Solved a stubborn ESP32-S3 SD startup issue: card would intermittently fail mount until physical reinsert. Root fix was forcing SPI chip-select lines HIGH immediately at boot (before delays/peripheral init), then proceeding with PMU/SD init. This prevented SD from seeing unintended SPI traffic during startup and stabilized RESET/POWER cycle behavior. We have a solid SD card facility for the T-Beam... getting closer.

Script para crear automáticamente una SD de AGS para PiStorm

El usuario Matt Alexander ha publicado un script que automatiza la preparación de una tarjeta SD para AGS (Amiga Game Selector) en configuraciones con PiStorm. La herramienta está pensada para simplificar un proceso que normalmente requiere varios pasos manuales, especialmente en la parte de particionado y copia de datos.

Al ejecutarlo, el script solo solicita dos datos: la ubicación de la tarjeta SD y la ruta donde se encuentra la instalación de AGS usada en WinUAE. A partir de esa información, realiza el trabajo completo de forma automática. Entre sus funciones se incluye la descarga de una copia de HST Imager, la creación de las particiones necesarias y la copia de los datos a la tarjeta. Además, también coloca el archivo ROM en su ubicación correspondiente utilizando el que el usuario ya tenga disponible, evitando pasos adicionales de búsqueda y configuración manual.

Con este enfoque, el script permite generar una SD lista para usar con AGS en PiStorm de forma más rápida y repetible, reduciendo el margen de error típico al preparar particiones y copiar archivos a mano.

#photography peeps, I’m in an #sdcard flap. I can find a 512gb 200mb/s card for about £50, but that feels like too many eggs in one basket for me - that’s 6000+ RAW + JPEG images from my #xt5. I’d rather 4 64gb cards, to keep projects separate and lower risk, but the cheapest equivalent 64gb card I’ve found is about £23, which seems crazy.
Any recommendations, or even explanations for this absurdity?!

I have no idea how long they last but 2TB micro sd cards are such a cool concept for archiving I like to imagine different ways to hide them like if they start banning books and doing censor house raids

A floppy disk that is actually just a whole bunch of SD (or microSD) cards wired together inside a plastic shell to make it identical to an actual floppy disk from the outside, which gets inserted into a FDD that is actually a specially shaped USB (or other protocol, depending on what enables the fastest speeds for the least complexity) port designed to read/write data from/to the floppySD.

Running benchmarks on a cheap ass SD card I bought from Aliexpress. It didn't want to run at all at work, but that might have been the cheap ass microSD to SD converter it came with. After the benchmarks from Disks, I'll run f3 (Fight Fake Flash) to make sure it's the size it says it is.

I'll definitely leave a bad review if it's fake tho'.

Auch kleine #Taschen für unterwegs.
Offenbar fallen mir keine gut geeigneten Begriffe ein.

Gibts Systeme die sich bei euch bewärt haben?

Um zb direkt Adapter für #microSD-cards zu beschriften dachte ich an #Lackstifte / #Aufkleber hab aber etwas Bedenken wg. Ablösung / Dicke.

Any ideas how to repair an SD card that's become insanely slow?
I mainly notice that any Switch games I open take forever to load. I've already tried formatting the card, but I didn't see any difference afterwards. But I did confirm that it reads very slowly when I copied all the data before formatting.
Any chance fsck might fix it? Or any other good ideas?
