A late Happy New Year to everyone reading. Let's make 2026 a great year! I wanted to share the #books I read in 2025. I was motivated by the #Readathon challenge from #TheOrgChallenge. It would be a good goal to read at least four books this year. That should be possible, right?

A selection of four books presented on a bamboo mat: "What you are looking for is in the library" by Michiko Aoyama, "Before the coffee gets cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, "Under the Eye of the Big Bird"by Hiromi Kawakami, and "The Cat Who Saved Books" by Sosuke Natsukawa.

🍵 Reading Marathons (Readathons) 🍵
In recent years, reading marathons—also known as readathons—have become increasingly popular on BookTube. The challenge is simple: read as many books as possible within a set timeframe, usually ranging from one day to a week.

30 minutes until Dewey's 24 hour #readathon!!! I'm not doing all 24 hours bc I'm a person with a job, a cat and a chromic migraine, but I'm going to do my best to reduce today's activities to reading, eating, sleeping, cat, and some light, audio-book accompanied housework

Here are my #reading stations:

Armchair with a cream blanket on it, a blue towel on top, a colorful ottoman in front. There's a rainbow carpet on one side and a curtained book shelf on the other, some books peeping outA large bean bag with a blanket featuring pink blue and purple birds covering it, there is also a lilac cushion, and a wall-covering bookshelf in the back

This is probably my favourite thrift shop find to date: Arthur of Albion by John Matthews and illustrated by Pavel Tatarnikov. It has been on my shelf for a couple of years now, but I finally picked it up in March for the Middle Earth Road Trip Readathon. The book contains a collection of short retellings of stories surrounding King Arthur and the knights of the round table, alternated with pages that present some facts about particular elements of the stories, such as mythological creatures, weapons and the creation of Camelot. While the book doesn't go very indepth, it definitely got me excited again about reading more Arthurian tales and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful!
