NDIS services have evolved from fragmented support structures into more data-informed systems but sustainable impact still depends on governance, accountability, and disciplined execution.

Reality: The NDIA can treat you like dog shit on a shoe but you have to treat them with respect. Currently awaiting a response to my FOI request (for 1 form) and it’s 4 months since they gave themselves an extra months time to process the request. 🦗 #Disability #NDIS

Welcome Australian senior citizens to the system that those on NDIS have been subjected to for a few years now. Hope you have as much fun with it as we do.

Exactly which providers are running the fraud and corruption operating in #NDIS. Should always have been a public run service. As should be employment and training, childcare, aged care, education, healthcare. #auspol.

AIUI:
The unreasonable, long term, and still ongoing, malfunctioning of NDIS public servants adds significant stress to the lives of National Disability Insurance Scheme recipients.

A lot of these people are already under a lot of stress.

That the government is adding more and more is just smh vile. And this is abusive.

2000 deaths linked to RoboDebt stress.

How many more need to die before the APS is reformed?

Getting tired of every system setup to help vulnerable Australians turns into a cash cow for inverment funds that 'supply' these services.
Australia needs to do away with 3rd party suppliers and bring carers back into the public servant fold.

@bluemoon

One thing that all modern governments seem to forget is that bureaucracy and enforcement are not free. The amount of money spent to prevent "theft" often hugely outweighs the amount that would be lost if they were left alone.

Example: local councils in Australia which offer free gas barbecues in local parks rather than making people pay for using them. Savings were huge, mainly because vandalism of the barbeques dropped to practically zero. It also made the barbecues themselves cheaper, since there was no need to add a pay mechanism to them.

Negative example: the #NDIS in Australia has been hobbled by so many bureaurcratic hurdles added to "prevent rorting" and dealing with "budget overruns" that it is fair to say that the entire purpose of that department is now to prevent anyone getting any money out of it at all. And of course the budget overruns haven't been addressed, because all the money is being spent on needless tests and recertifications and endless red tape.

@sortius Yep - The just effectively taunts & teases so many people - Their experts say they need to do these things, would benefit from these things but you have to pay for them & we will pay for a support worker to accompany you but the PWD can't afford all those things so they never happen & they never improve-The NDIS planners base so many decisions on envy & jealousy thinking the PWD can't be allowed to get something they don't get themselves

There is a group of employers that is largely ignored by the political discourse in Australia: #disabled people on the #NDIS. $48Bn was spent last year, not all on wages, there are also consumables, adaptations, and assessments but a huge amount is. Because of the way the system is set up we basically have fire at will power over employees. #auspol

Passionate about practical, cost-effective access beyond minimum compliance — delivering better outcomes for people, developers & communities.
Looking forward to connecting with architects, planners, accessibility pros, disability advocates, built-environment folks & anyone interested in truly inclusive design.
What accessible project are you working on right now — or what’s one barrier you’d love to see fixed?

So instead of targeting fraudsters, the NDIS is targeting recipients.

Sounds very neo-liberal of them.

Using a robot to determine who can and who can't get funding, with no recourse.

Sounds very neo-liberal of them.

How on earth do I find a decent #SupportCoordinator? Do they exist? #NDIS
Have not been able access what tiny plan I have because I don’t know how, & can’t access any good advice on what I’m meant to do.
I had a #DisabilityAdvocate short term and was screwed!
