At the time that the Kodak MC3 was released this made it a rather unique device, with it in hindsight being basically a smartphone without the phone, as [Tech Tangents] aptly notes in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq2KLhKRH6Q" target="_blank">his recent video on the device</a>.</p>
<p>Six years before Apple’s iPhone would be announced, and eight years before the first iPod with a video camera, the <a href="https://www.dpreview.com/articles/1517965238/kodakmc3" target="_blank">Kodak MC3</a> was in many respects bleeding edge technology targeted straight at tech enthusiasts. For less than $300 you got VGA-quality images, CompactFlash storage, and MP3 playback capability. The videos it produced were 320×240 resolution, h.263 encoded MOVs with a maximum length of 4 seconds at 20 FPS, or 4 minutes with a 64 MB CF card.</p>

However, if you’re looking to just listen to the audio, you can actually do that right from the terminal. <a href="https://shellbeats.com/" target="_blank">You just need Shellbeats from [lalo-space].</a></p>
<p>Shellbeats is primarily intended for playing music from YouTube, and is well equipped for this task. It allows searching YouTube directly from the terminal, as well as streaming tracks or entire playlists from the command line interface. You can also make and edit playlists from within the tool, and even download the whole lot as MP3s if so desired. It’s all keyboard-operated and nicely lightweight. The overall experience isn’t dissimilar from operating a simple LCD-based MP3 player from 20 years ago.</p>

Wabans Electronics will einen #Opensource #MP3 Player auf den Markt bringen und hat ein #Youtube Video veröffentlicht in dem sie uns um Ideen was das Ding können soll bitten. Mein Vorschlag ist M.2 und Sata, weil die nur MicroSD machen wollen. Bin gespannt ob das was wird, aber wenn ich da nicht mindestens 4TB Speicher reinpacken kann ist das nix für mich.
Wenn die alle Vorschläge umsetzen wird das eine Höllenmaschine!

Unser guter alter #mp3player (kein Bluetooth, nur Speicherkarte, als Stromversorgung der Akku eines alten Nokia-Handys, aber toller Klang) wurde langsam "heiser", d.h. beim Verstellen der Lautstärke kratzte es übel.
Eine gute Dosis #Kontaktspray in die kleine Öffnung neben dem Lautstärkeregler hat ihn kuriert. 🙂

I like to keep flacs, I got bluetooth setup (I know, I know) with my phone at the minute, but would like a separate device

Die meisten #meta Dienste nutze ich nicht mehr. Umstieg von #Windows auf #Linux steht an. Allerdings nutze ich auch noch ein #ipad und ein #iphone. Das wird auch noch länger der Fall bleiben. Kleine Schritte aber kontinuierlich

Atualização sobre experiência com o Mp3 Player.
Ficou encostado por um mês por causa do volume alto + ruído. Comprei esse cabo (rabicho) preto, com controle de volume analógico e resolveu a questão, ainda que ele incomode um pouco no bolso e para manusear o aparelho (o ideal seria que o próprio fone tivesse esse controle analógico na parte superior do cabo, o meu só tem botão play / pause que não funciona nesse aparelho).
Mesmo com essa gambiarra, passou no teste do dia da faxina. Ouvi podcast e música sem me preocupar com ligações me interrompendo. A alavanca em formato de pino ajuda muito em podcasts, quando não entendemos algo e precisamos voltar alguns segundos, segurando-a. Bom também para pular propagandas e afins.
Mas quando passamos a faixa sem querer, é inviável, pois o avanço não é rápido o suficiente para passar vários minutos.
No geral, a experiência é muito boa. Para mim, a melhor coisa é poupar a bateria do meu smart ou dumbphone, ficar longe de tomadas e recarregadores.
O que faz mais falta é a navegação por pastas. O máximo que ele permite é um "loop" nos arquivos que estão na mesma pasta da mp3 atual.

Essentially what is this, well I installed lineage os on this phone and deleted everything and installed app called "Pod Classic" and now I have my own MP3 player. #music #lineageOS #mp3Player #android
