Wczoraj wieczorem Apple udostępniło kilka kolejnych aktualizacji przeznaczonych do instalacji na urządzeniach, które nie są wspierane przez najnowsze systemy.

A chodzi konkretnie o poniższe aktualizacje:

iOS 16.7.14
iPadOS 16.7.14
macOS 11.7.11
watchOS 10.6.2
watchOS 9.6.4
watchOS 6.3.1

Aktualizacja iOS jest skierowana głównie dla użytkowników z Australii. Naprawia możliwość korzystania z połączeń alarmowych.

Z kolei pozostałe aktualizacje zapewniają dalsze wsparcie usług iMessage i FaceTime na starszych urządzeniach.

Apple po raz kolejny pokazuje, że nie zapomina o użytkownikach korzystających ze starszych sprzętów.

<p>Apple has just released security updates for macOS Catalina and Big Sur. Yes, you saw that right, macOS 10.15 Catalina and 11 Big Sur.</p>
<p>These are formally macOS Big Sur 11.7.11 and Catalina Security Update 2026-001. Although billed as security updates, these extend the security certificates required by iMessage, FaceTime and Mac activation so they will continue working after January 2027. If you’re still running macOS 10.15 or 11, they’re essential. However, there are no published security fixes for either.</p>

Hmm is this supposed to happen? I checked on both PC and phone and I don’t think one of those is supposed to be named that.

Global macOS desktop version market share. macOS Catalina leads with 80%, followed by macOS Cheetah at 12.15%. Other versions include macOS Sierra (1.93%), macOS High Sierra (1.81%), macOS 11 (1.49%), and macOS Mojave (1.47%).

Since my mid-2013 #MacBookAir reached its #EOL (long time ago), and the #homebrew decides not to support #MacOS 11 anymore. 😤

I’ve decided to bring my #MBA back to life and install #Fedora #Sway on it. And it is indeed great so far. 😍

As you can see I’m still configuring and customizing it.
Let’s see how it goes 🙄

#Apple once took great pride in having a truly great user interface and user experience for #macOS.

These days are really long over.

The user interface of #macOS14 "Sonoma" is even worse that the duds we had with #macOS13 or even #macOS11
