Once Star Citizen gets 100% Linux comparability support, I'll more than likely change my gaming rig to 100% Linux.
Yay, Moguri Mod working on the GOG release on Linux. No Steam!

I have no numbers; but from pure observation i have in the last 3-4 months seen a GREAT uptick in people talking about moving to linux on our ~50k discord servers dedicated to one of our videogames.
Includes seasoned linux users, people who just had their first installation, to people talking about "planning to make the move soon".
This is from long time members of the community - so I see this as being quite significant.
I can understand why he uses Bazzite with no tweaking whatsoever though. Does it make Linux look bad that a lot of them DNF? Yes. But we need to see Linux looking bad when it is doing bad, so everyone knows what's going wrong and Bazzite is able to sort it out with support or bugfixes. Same thing for when Linus (Tech Tips) wiped the desktop to install Steam on Pop!_OS. (You have to ask why installing Steam wiped system packages, and System76 fixed it after Linus' exposure.)
You can't always have Linux shining in a good light. It has problems, it will have problems. It's software. Putting your head in the sand is part of the reason many conflicts and problems with Linux as a desktop OS stay for years and I prefer it if collectively, the Linux desktop people just stop doing that.
EDIT: add a few missing words, thx adhd

Finally it's happening in Linux communities🔥
IMO the true power of Linux etc is in its combined community efforts. Fragmentation is needed but also some areas like these definitely have common work to be shared and benefited by all.
Really a great initiative especially the upstream first approach 👏
I'm not a gamer btw, but I absolutely love the idea of combined & reusing common community efforts❤️

y'know it's very fitting DankPods benchmarked Linux on an OS based on Fedora given the amount of DNFs he's getting

Minecraft Bedrock on Bazzite
My Steam window keeps popping up in fullscreen and stealing focus while I'm playing games. It seems to happen whether or not I disable the overlay.
Can anyone tell me why, and how to make it never happen again? Because it makes playing games basically impossible. It's happening across multiple games. No errors are being thrown, my windo just keeps popping up. I could try Big Picture Mode, but on my desktop computer that's less than ideal.

I recently purchased a new 2K monitor (27" Acer Nitro 180Hz on sale for 140€) - it gives me plenty of room, but the downside is that running some games on nativer resolution now causes the GPU fans to spin up what they didn't do when I was still running at 1080p, and I don't like the noise.
So I started looking at utilizing gamescope to run the game internally at 1920x1080 and scale it to 2560x1440 using FSR. Seems to work rather nicely, I don't see much difference in fidelity and the GPU fans stay nice and quiet.
