Yay. After 3 days, I finally got #Kasm installed. Now I just need to figure out adding it to #HAProxy.

I've been looking for an OS in a Browser solution. After banging my head against Guacamole, I stumbled on #Kasm which was a very easy install. I'm still figuring out their philosphy around apps vs using a full OS in their workspace, and nothing is persistent, but it's very polished. #selfhosted

Lots of app and desktop images.
Must have - browsers. Spin up a browser container, open that suspicious link you got, securely check it out, shut it down. Clean.

Hrm. It upgrades and actually runs, but it has a self-signed SSL certificate. And the browser doesn't like it, but the page loads that tells me that Kasm is offline.

I tried using the SSL feature through Tailscale, but that didn't seem to do anything. I haven't dug too far into it to know what the hell I'm doing.

A work around is the old "use the IP instead of the fqdn" and accept it in the browser.

Trying out #KASM. (#Docker based #linux desktops in the cloud that can be accessed in the browser).

The concept is great but I am not convinced that the performance is good enough for serious work. I have a proper low-latency fibre connection and still that desktop feels a little sluggish.

When this would get "snappier", it would be a truly awesome solution! Still a nice project and I highly enjoyed fiddling around with it.

Well, after a lot of pulling my hair trying to figure out why #KASM Workspaces was not connecting via RDP to my #Ubuntu desktop VM, it turns out that there's an #ApacheGuacamole issue with the graphics pipeline that is the culprit. Oh well, at least the problem is not that there's an ID-10-t on my side. LOL
