@infinite8horizon.com

It is about "intention".

In dreams every single detail is crystal clear. You might not be able to recall but you never squint in a dream. One can look around and travel in and out of a scene / story.

Fuzziness is the pain of misplaced spectacles or careless greasy lenses or you are just about to drop asleep with drooping eyes. No control no focus.no agency over this scene with stories (multiple) that the viewer should have freedom to explore.

The only times blur works well is when your scene only has one clear story (singular) and the blur is enhancing it by eliminating distraction. Otherwise it will always risk feeling as censorship for any inquisitive viewer.

Defiantly pick number 1.
We want it all. We want to have the choose our path in the scene. Blur is exclusion. Blur is pain.

... then again, life is pain. Art can/may be pain. Do you want to actively starve your viewer with a your diet view, or a you presenting a grand buffet all you can eat/ see.

I've long had an issue with the English 'why'. Dan Dennett had similar misgivings.

philosophics.blog/2026/01/18/t

The term in English carries a lot of metaphysical baggage – more than necessary.

It fixes the past,
but doesn’t guide the future.
Protocols that last
are the ones that know what to do when no one acts.

Continuity is not automatic.
It must be encoded.
When interaction ends,
the protocol must know what to do.
Not to decide for people,
but to respect their intent over time.
#Ethereum #Web3 #OnChain #Intent #ProtocolDesign #Philosophy

Blockchains are “immutable.”
Human intent is not.
The real challenge of Web3 isn’t custody —
it’s continuity of will over time.
If code can preserve value forever,
it should preserve intent too.

As is usual on this day, here's my best ⚡ #intent for 2026

"Don't get stuck in our future, just stay in the moment of the present day, and wonder about what we already have. That is our building material now. Mind full of the glue of progress, I may just forge the stuff of dreams. So let's start building now. Be #playful. Pave pathways to future along the way."

A mysterious moonlit and magical landscape is depicted. The pastures of the mind, where everything is possible. The image depicts a young person rowing a small dingy along a peaceful meandering stream, with rows of dense wonderment growing along its shores. As suddenly a sparkling elf appeared. Flickering on fleety wings before the boat, they wispered softly: "Hey there, you! The time to explore is now. Stuff of dreams exists here. Ethereal harvesting time has come. Fruitful nourisment grows for day after day. Be delicate when you choose and pick. The cherries are just so juicy, so pick them playfully. Then enjoy the moment while you savor them".

Thought Of The Day #55: Measure a person's intent and not be solely focused on their results. There is value in a person who has tried and is in your corner but wasn't able to bring about the desired result. [ December 24th 2025 ] rons-home.net/en/living-life-l

A quotation from Abraham Lincoln

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) American lawyer, politician, US President (1861-65)
Letter (1855-11-05) to Isham Reavis

A quotation from Hannah Arendt

When I speak of the banality of evil, I do so only on the strictly factual level, pointing to a phenomenon which stared one in the face at the trial. Eichmann was not Iago and not Macbeth, and nothing would have been farther from his mind than to determine with Richard III “to prove a villain.” Except for an extraordinary diligence in looking out for his personal advancement, he had no motives at all. And this diligence in itself was in no way criminal; he certainly would never have murdered his superior in order to inherit his post. He merely, to put the matter colloquially, never realized what he was doing.

Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) German-American philosopher, political theorist
Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil, Postscript (1963)

The of and the truth of harmony should be the of …as well as (maybe/perhaps) the of and the creating of seeking.

@fosstastic I know and I've done it over the decades with many accounts. I once installed a portable version of windows 3.x in a novell network on in my user account in the 90s.

It is all about raising the barrier to entry. Having a user just be able to go to #flathub and install ANYTHING is not adequate barrier to entry. With great power comes responsibility. If someone installs a piece of software that is not approved, I want there to be an obvious #intent.

A quotation from Robert Louis Stevenson

The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish.

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) Scottish essayist, novelist, poet
Essay (1879-05), “The Truth of Intercourse,” Cornhill Magazine, Vol. 39

The moment you “move toward balance,” you affirm imbalance as real.

Balance isn’t reached; it reappears when the pushing stops. The body, the psyche, the field — they all have self-righting motion built in. What disturbs it is the interference born of intent to correct.

So: no move. Just the pause before motion, where motion finds its true line again.

@Kerplunk The definition of in itself is problematic. It states: "committed with to , in whole or in part, a , , or group". But the intent comes from the . And of course it will claim: we did not have that intent.
