Influxdb päivitys 1.8 -> v2.8.0 ja samalla Grafanan päivitys versioon 12.3 ei mene ihan heittämällä, mutta kun hahmottaa uuden bucket-ajattelun ja rakentaa kyselyt uusiksi, homma pelittää kuin unelma! #grafana #influxdb #iot #airquality

Dieses Wochenende stand die Einrichtung von Grafana, InfluxDB3 und Telegraf im Homelab an.

Grafana und InfluxDB3 als Container, Telegraf nativ.

Hintergrund ist die Entscheidung von Icinga nur gegen einen Obulus von 5000€ pro Jahr Zugriff auf deren RPM-Pakete für RockyLinux, RHEL, etc zu gewähren.

Bis jetzt habe ich beruflich immer Nagios Monitoring Tools eingesetzt.
Jetzt möchte ich Grafana vom Beiwerk für schöne Visualisierungen in Icinga zum voll ausgebauten Monitoring Tool befördern und später auch die Alarmierung testen.

Demnächst installiere ich noch Elasticsearch, Kibana und die Beats bzw. den Elastic-Agent um Daten zu erfassen und erstelle aus der Datenquelle weitere Panels und Dashboards.

I store some HA historical values into InfluxDB. The app has a Telegraf frontend.

One sensor collect continuous data, while I have added a text input_helper to collect manual annotations about this data.

Is there a way in Telegraf to render the (free-text) annotation text over the same chart that the continuous data is plotted on?

HA's History graph does a decent job at it, and I'd like something similar for long-term stats.

In which i write about turning my boat into my own personal hyperlocal tide station using boat data, a #Victron cerbo, and some cloud tools. Note that this can be done with a variety of tools and tech, including replacing the cerbo with a #raspberrypi the only non-negotiable component is the boat😂

Sobald die Gadgetbridge-ZIPs im Syncthing-Hub (/home/xxxx/garmin_loader/Garmin_Hub/01_Inbox_Import) auf dem Server landen, übernimmt die Magie:

Ein Python-ETL-Skript (garmin_import_final.py), gesteuert per Cronjob, entpackt die ZIPs. Mit fitparse & gpxpy werden die .fit-Daten (inkl. GPS-Koordinaten, HR, Pace) ausgelesen, gefiltert und als Zeitreihen in eine dedizierte garmin_data-Datenbank in meiner zentralen InfluxDB geschrieben. Verarbeitete ZIPs wandern ins Archiv.

Das ist der Kern des datenschutzfreundlichen Workflows!
