Data we’ve collected over the last 4 weeks. Been in
both sides of the constituency, both Denton and
Gorton. 4 weeks back we knocked on Labour
doors. Today they’re saying they’re green. From
who’ve we've spoken to (full canvass) today. 75%
of people who were Labour 4 weeks ago, are now
going green. And only about 5% of people who
were green 4 weeks ago are now Labour. Reform
vote is way too low in Denton, they’re peaking at
about 25-27%. Looks like greens on 31% and Lab
on 25% as per my calculations. Tactical voting is so
strong, but greens seem to have done the better
job getting message across. Happy to send data

It seems that the Daily Hate agrees with bookies that the Green Menace is favourite to win tomorrow's #GortonAndDenton #byelection. They don't waste a front page on no no-hopers.

Sadly, the Hate just focuses on Green plans for the future. They give Greens no credit for their heroic achievement of driving the Windsors mad and letting the cops loose on them.

If stopping Reform were the overriding aim, Labour would also deploy what
research shows is the killer attack line against that party. A survey of 6,000
people by the group Persuasion UK found that by far the most effective
message of five options was focused on corporate interests and went as
follows: “Nigel Farage says he’s on people’s side - but when you take a closer
look it’s pretty clear who he’s really fighting for, isn’t it? It’s the rich, the
powerful, his mates in big business? It explained that Reform UK has taken
vast donations from fossil fuel investors and climate science deniers. This,
Persuasion UK said, is why Farage wants to cut public services, workers’
rights and taxes for the richest. “He’s not smashing the system. He and his
rich friends basically are the system.”

None of the other attack lines came anywhere near this for efficacy. So why
doesm’t Labour use it? Because that might alienate the people Starmer seems
keenest to appease: Labour’s own corporate backers and the billionaire
proprietors of the rightwing press. The leadership’s key objective is not
stopping Farage, but frightening people into voting Labour. Quite frankly, it
has nothing else left.

I know people dunk on the #Greens for not being perfect from every section of the political opinion scale, but you have to give some kudos to a party that exists without any big business or trade union backing, basically just funded by ordinary members' subs & donations, fighting the behemoths of #ReformUK & #UKLabour in a by-election on short notice. Whatever happens it's a huge achievement
