I assume the #Mandelson thing is that they simply thought #Trump would squash the #Epstein revelations, at least during his term, so having one of his inner circle with the president's ear would be to the UK's advantage.

Didn't turn out like that, and #Starmer and #UKLabour are having to live with the consequences

@ChrisMayLA6 It won't happen this week, I think. As you yourself point out, under current circumstances no one else wants the role. They'll wait at least until after the Gorton and Denton defeat, probably until after the May election calamity.
