I started a new #CrossStitch #FullCoverage project, using 110 different colors. Of those, one was not available to order right away; it arrives in more than a week's time. Now guess which color is used (in a blend) for the first, top-left stitch of the pattern 😅

SIx hours (905 stitches) in on this one, plus an hour of crochet earlier while I was too distracted by trams to get any stitching done.

You can definitely tell a difference from the starting pic, which is basically my one metric of success when it comes to full-coverage pieces like this 😅

The project from the parent post now has a bit more trunk filled in, as well as a good chunk of the background above it that was previously missing. It's in a square frame covered by a blue q-snap and held in a metal clamp that is just visible in the bottom left of the picture. Much less in the way of trailing threads than before!

Got a lot done yesterday (think I ended up stitching for six hours straight - not great for my thesis, but I utterly enjoyed it so I'm calling it good).
I managed to finish two more colours. I seem to be doing a mix of "start in the top left corner" and "oh, I'll just finish this thread" that then leads to traversing all over the place :blobovo:

I'm finally! done with the white part :blobexpressionless:

I'm using odds and ends of hand me down floss for this project, and the whites in particular have been tricky - since it's one large swathe of colour even minute changes in tone are obvious at a distance. I carefully tried to make a seemless gradient (in the off-white part) from almost white to slightly more beigy white, flanked by the darkest of the whites in strategic places to soften the edges.
It went pretty well, actually, untill I ran out of my pre-sorted strands with about a centimeter left. I think I've redone that last part more than five times? Desperately trying to find a colour match among the leftover floss that didn't look too bright nor dark. I think I finally managed it. Either way, I'm calling it done.
