Interesting quirk of Mastodon I view as a flaw:

Searching for a hashtag only includes posts by people already "imported" by the current instance. I.e.

@a posts #foo at @OndrejZizka@witter.cz

@b searches #foo at server2

But until someone at server2 follows @OndrejZizka@witter.cz , search for #foo won't include this post.

Is that by design or something to be fixed later? Should be optional and not behave like that by default. Even if it should take longer to get the full result.

@atax1a this is fair. i haven't done that because i want either a posix compliant shell or a proper programming language and i don't care very much about maintaining the completion system or configuring the whole thing.

i could switch to xonsh and get rid of even more cognitive complexity than fish and not even learn a new language, get an object oriented shell, and get a proper programming language. but that is a different significant investment to fix stuff like `nix build .#foo` and idk i am still scared to switch to a non posix shell.
