Fish market, Busan, Fall 2023.

There’s really no way that I could describe the energy of this fish market in Busan and do it justice. It was an energy that I wasn’t able to experience anywhere else in South Korea. It was the only place where nothing was lost in translation.

Regardless of the language barrier between me and the locals, I understood everything happening around me—from the casual conversations that I overheard, to the bartering and eventual transaction between fishmonger and customer. There was no language needed to come to an understanding and I cherished every moment of it.
