(Context: For Mersenne numbers, which are of the form 2 to the power of p minus 1 where p is prime, if a Mersenne number composite, their factors will always take the form 2 times k times p minus 1. In this example, this really huge Mersenne number with over 3 billion digits only has an 11 digit factor because its k value is 1, in other words it's only double the p exponent plus 1, saving thousands of years of computation to do a more intensive probable prime test on it.)

Forgotten #simplisity . one of my colleagues long time ago show me #forth . It was stack based language with #factorisation principle. With every word you program gets better and better and execution mechanisms was super simple but powerful. You get compiler , interpreter and os in one shot. #forth really help to develop complex systems . In a few years I fail in love with #lisp . It was more complex but as same as #forth was build around simple but single data structure - list .

I made a series of six videos for SOME1 about #primenumbers and where to find them. In total it runs to about 35 minutes.

The short version is that I've used the difference of two squares to test for primality, set bounds for those squares and then sieve the squares using modularity to infinitely optimise the primality test. I also look at primes in quadratic progression and how that relates to twin primes and Euler's prime generating function and some other stuff.

I'm pretty interested in feedback on my ideas around primes which, from my perspective, are entirely original and true but may bewell established and I just haven't seen it because I can't read maths papers. I'm not great at maths but I'm pretty good with google and I'm yet to find anything close to what I've done.
