I started it because I like to watch YouTube and I often search for Linux videos. I find it infuriating that 90% of the videos have "ai" generated voices, graphics, and scripts. I want to learn new things, not have unoriginal ideas regurgitated to me by bots. Terminal Tilt is a strictly Non-AI :NoAI: channel focused on ethical computing, promoting #FOSS, and providing a direct alternative to the Big Tech surveillance machine. I am not revealing it yet, but here is a hint: For my next video, I am going to focus on one of my favorite applications that I have been using since I discovered it. I love that it is still getting lots of support and it is inclusive. I am going to show how to use it with bash and fish.

It can be pretty tricky to find #hardware that is #ethical but by running a basic command and checking the peripherals listed by their Vendor and Product IDs (that look like "[3fc2:001b]") one can often quickly identify if a device will be suited to them, as #FreedomSoftware Enjoyers.

given my attitude towards #zerowaste and #ethicalcomputing I've been looking at acquiring older pieces of technology to build out my equipment inventory for #gamedev #livestreaming

Something I've noticed is that, fundamentally, tech from as far back as 2010 is still pretty useful nowadays (provided all the consumables are in good shape/replaced.) More and more, I'm looking at the used/refurb market in a positive light. This old tech just works and all the kinks are ironed out.

Not to point fingers, but migrating to #Fedora #Linux really kicked this entire reflection off. Using Linux has been a great experience, but it only illustrated what #ethicalcomputing actually looks like. A computer should be a tool, an appliance, that I use for work, entertainment, and connection, not a device that rules my life and attention.
