I'm in the process of setting up Dokploy for a client to host their NextJS sites on. These were previously hosted on Vercel using Neon PostgresDB.
I have a dedicated Postgres server, have got it a valid certificate but it is still breaking the build when generating Static content. It errors out with "Socket hung up".
I've added the network into the pg_hba config, but I'm clearly missing something to make this work the same way Neon worked.

Was hier nach einfacher Installation aussah, entwuchs sich zu einem mittleren Drama. Da denkt man, Dokploy erleichtert viele Dinge bei der Installation. Das Gegenteil scheint der Fall zu sein. Das Email-Setup und der Versuch, ActivityPub zu aktivieren, waren extrem nervtötend. Email für Users und Newsletter scheint zu funktionieren, ActivityPub gibt mir noch Rätsel auf. Sollte jemand Ghost mit Dokploy zum Laufen gebracht haben, bitte ich um kurzen Erfahrungsaustausch.
Die Installation von Etherpad hat mit Dokploy funktioniert. Für die Installation von Plugins ist wieder viel Feintuning erforderlich.
Es laufen gerade Experimente mit Dokploy.
Erste Erfahrungen waren ernüchternd, weil ich es vom lokalen Rechner per Cloudflare Tunnels betreiben wollte. Mit A-Records und Letsencrypt auf einem VPS läuft die Sache wie geschmiert. Anwendungen lassen sich extrem schnell exponieren. Eine tolle Sache. Leider funktioniert momentan nur die HTTP-Challenge für die Zertifikate. Für den Einsatz auf einem VPS ist Dokploy aus meiner Sicht sehr zu empfehlen.

① For mobile, I use GrapheneOS and prioritize FOSS apps from #NeoStore (the best F-Droid client out there).
② For self-hosting, I prefer #Dokploy on Debian, mainly using #Nextcloud apps. It's way more beginner-friendly than dealing with individual docker containers.
③ For messaging, #Matrix (Element X) is perfect - it's user-friendly and stays true to FOSS principles. It gives us freedom to pick any server we trust to.
④ For Fediverse stuff, I stick with Mastodon.

Been testing out a 1-click deployments on Dokploy for applications I'm unfamiliar with, and ohmygod I haven't had this much fun in weeks, WEEKS.
Some are useful, some are not, some get placed on the backlog for future projects, some do not.
The learning process of figuring this out and finding ways to apply it, is the essence of what got me into tech :neocat_heart:

Dokploy has genuinely upgraded my homeserver setup to the ponit where it's arguably at it's most resillient ever.
I still need to setup global brute-force/ddos protections (i.e. fail2ban etc), but that's relatively low-risk with individual services blocking you after 3 failed attempts for x time anyway.
The beeee's they are swaaarming 🐝
