We visited the Grayson Perry - 'Aspects of Myself' exhibition at the Royal Albert Museum in Exeter today. I find his Julie Cope series quite moving

I've seen Moorhen hundreds of times but, like any other wildlife watching, sometimes a species does something that makes you stop and watch - no matter how often you've seen them.

Fantastic day at Berry Head, Brixham, Devon.

It was NOT raining!

...and I had a fantastic "cheese and chutney tea" for my lunch at the Guard House cafe 😋

Looking out over the sale and the coastline from Berry Head.

Some grass in the foreground and a few spits of land poking out into the calm sea. Several small islands can be seen and were probably part of the spits long ago.

There's been some big updates for the UK railway map over the past month. South Devon got a complete redraw, with greater accuracy and lots more detail, especially for the industrial tramways. Display more tracks by selecting 'Layers' at top-left.

Cold, bright and clear. I can't remember the last time we had a morning like this ☀️

Knightshays, near Tiverton, Devon

Grand Gothic Revival house designed by Victorian visionary, William Burges, where even the loo has a touch of class.

The 'small room' in which the sun shines in so brightly that the interior is quite dark, while even through net curtains the window is lit up. The window is recessed and encased in wooden panelling that has simple carved tracery, while the top of casement is curved. The rest of the room is barely visble. Hanging down in front of the window is a chain and handle used to flush the toilet that one has to assume is just below.the edge of the image.
