Sometimes figuring out whats happening over time in the Mikrotik changelogs isn't as easy as it should be..... I made a tool to display changelog entries and data in different ways, as well as searching all changelogs for keywords. (MLAG for instance is a good search keyword).

This is still in really early public availability, but its been useful for 2 out of 2 people I shared it with and so I expect it will be useful for a wider audience.

Just taking a few moments to appreciate public #changelogs in #foss software. They are informative, transparent, and make you feel involved in the story of the project. Even as a non-developer, they still encourage you to trust the maintainers and make the best out of the issue tracking system.

The first changelog is from a proprietary Play Store app. I haven't seen it change in a few years. The second changelog is from a FOSS #fdroid app.

Es ist ein Screenshot der Updateseite der Mastodon App im AppStore zu sehen. Als eine der Neuerungen wird „Wir haben keine Begrenzung dafür eingeführt, wie viele Toots du pro Tag lesen kannst.“ genannt.

The earliest sign of #enshittification might be when a company starts having “Bug fixes and performance improvements” as their list of changes every release on App Store updates. And when they cede the changelog to the marketing people to make cornball jokes, just give up all hope. Especially if you work there.
