When Rainverse Wiki left Fandom, Fandom maintained an abandoned copy of the former Rain Wiki. On August 10, that copy was vandalized with transphobia. Since there were no active admins, no one in the community could ban the vandal. A few days later, Fandom responded to the vandalism by closing their copy of Rain Wiki. 30 days later, Fandom has now deleted their copy of the wiki from their servers.
While transphobic vandalism is bad, the wiki's deletion from Fandom is good. Fandom is still using the text of wikis to "train" a procedural bullshit-generator, and inserting their procedurally-generated bullshit into articles. Now that Fandom deleted Rain Wiki from their site, it will not be used for that purpose. Aside from the ethics, our wiki is of substantially higher quality even before Fandom's was vandalized. We have more than twice as many articles, and our articles are more detailed.
Google, Bing, and Yandex still have cached versions of Rain Fandom Wiki, including some vandalized pages. You can hide those results from searches by installing the browser extension Indie Wiki Buddy, maintained by @kevin@payravi.xyz . The extension redirects you from Fandom wikis to equivalent ethically-hosted wikis. If no independent wiki is known, it can redirect to BreezeWiki, a privacy-respecting proxy for Fandom. It also has the option to hide Fandom results from searches.
Fandom is still hosting a copy of My Impossible Soulmate Wiki. That wiki has had no edits since May. We also have more than five times as many articles just about MIS. Unlike the now-deleted Rain Fandom Wiki, the MIS Fandom Wiki does have a semi-active bureaucrat. Though we recommend our wiki over the Fandom version, we hold no animosity towards the bureaucrat of the Fandom MIS wiki, and we ask that you do not vandalize his wiki and create more work for him.

So #DuckDuckGo has three bangs that lead to the #Zelda section of the site formerly known as #Wikia, but none to zeldawiki.wiki, which is the actual Zelda wiki.

Today is the one year anniversary of Pandora's Tale Wiki!
I started this project as a way to more easily update the list of characters, in the hope that I could eventually use it for a Volume 2 Character Tournament. The list of characters was the first article I created:

In the past year, PTW has grown to include 64 main-namespace articles, and 431 pages in total. Just in the past two weeks, we broke free of Fandom.

Currently Miraheze works as a host, and they are much better than Fandom ever was. However, there is still some uncertainty regarding their future. Miraheze is in the process of transitioning to a new board and a new organization. I will be monitoring the situation to see if we will need to move again. I hope any future moves will be easier, since we are now using stock MediaWiki.
Beyond changes to the wiki content and host, I will be considering when and if it will be best to get our own domain.
There has been almost no new Pandora's Tale canon content in the past year: the only new source material since the wiki launched are six one-panel previews Xan posted on her social media, handily collected on the article for Chapter Nine:

The lack of new canon puts us in a position a little bit like that of WikiBound, which was founded in 2010 and has had no new Earthbound canon since then. However, we have much less material to document than the WikiBound editors. Hence, continued expansion of Pandora's Tale Wiki will depend partly on whether Xan provides us with Chapter Nine and beyond.
And as always, Pandora's Tale Wiki is a wiki that anyone can edit. If you're a fan, you are welcome to contribute.

I wish them the best of luck. Fandom (formerly #Wikia) is an awful business that treats your small #Wiki as an #ad #spam farm with a lot of #SEO riding on it. This isn't even an #enshittification case; 13 years ago the western #Telefang community forked off Wikia and it took half a decade for us to consistently rank above their ancient copy of our wiki in search.
#WikiFur had left #Fandom, Inc (then called #Wikia , formerly #Wikicities) 15 years ago, following Transformers Wiki's exit.

And the CC license allows Fandom to keep the original wiki open, ranking higher than the spinoff thanks to aggressive SEO.
They've acquired #Metacritic and #Gamespot too—no doubt they'll soon fall to #enshittification.

IRC is so much more robust than it used to be.
Miraheze (good free wikia hosting site) and Opensim (secondlife server emulator) both have IRC and use this web app called "Libera Chat". It is suprisingly robust and clean. I havent made an account but I can still see both of the IRCs I connected to.

My first experience with Wikia was about a decade ago. I heard about #Telefang and the translation patch. I tried reverse-engineering the title screen, since it wasn't translated yet... only to realize that I had an old patch because everyone moved off Wikia a year ago
