'At a glance, Palantir sells software. In practice, it provides government with the infrastructure to monitor, investigate and target people at scale.' Palantir were handed a £240 million contract by the Ministry of Defence - with no parliamentary debate or competitive tender. They already have a £330 million contract with the NHS.

It is a little depressing to still see developers describe themselves as X developer or Y developer, when the identifier is a language, a product or god help us, a Framework.

40 or more years ago developers were jailed in Manufacturers' prisons and languages and forced into the straightjacket of Jackson Structured programming, and then the maze of UML.

I'd hoped we would be doing better by now. Do not be defined by the tools, technology or philosophy you're temporarily using.
