#TLRTuesday is back to a couple winters ago when my friend @aaronberjohn and I went around town on a dreary frigid day to make some portraits. I recently re-edited the photos now that I can process negatives a bit better and trying to follow @bosak's advice of finding the image in the shot, instead of just muted grays (thanks!), still learning and a ways to go.

Black and white photo of a person on a outdoor metal benching laying on the bench while their foot is propped up on the arm rest. Only the bottom of the shoe is is focus and everything else drops off to fuzzy focus with trees in the background. The photo is a bit grainy, high contrast, and moody. I fell in love with film, so I welcomed another new yet oldest member to my camera family -- a Yashica 635. This is the first photo I took with this camera, with Kodak Tri-X. I can readily tell that it has much better quality than my Debonair toy camera. But I'll still shoot Debonair for its lofi quirks. Basically I like how every camera, every lens, and every film has its at times imperfect but interesting quirks or personality. #nyc #brooklyn #subway #trains #streetphotography #TLR #blackandwhite #kodaktrix400 #yashica #ishootfilm #believeinfilm #filmphotography #analogphotography
Black and white photo taken inside a subway Train. It's an M train in Brooklyn. There're two other passengers and the view outside is blurred.

#TLRTuesday has been all Black&White Mamiya today, here's a touch of color from the Rolleiflex with a lens made way before color photography was available.

Edit: as @sree pointed out color photography is older than 1935. I meant to say before it was available for this lens but that may not be true either, the first Kodachrome is a contemporary. What is true is that this lens was definitely not designed for color photography as a primary format. The more you know 🌈

Color photo of a cherry tree in blossom on a very overcast day with the tree covering most of hte frame, to the bottom left of the frame there are two people with longer hair and plastic headband with fake pink flowers posing for a camera off-screen. The bottom of the frame is a body of water and distant trees on the other shore. The whole image is a soft pastel haze. New comic: The TLR camera
ericafustero.com/2026-01-foto-

A short story on how I bought my first TLR camera and how it's not with me anymore... πŸ₯²

Two-panel comic. The title reads "Making big decisions". The top panel shows a woman sitting on the toilet looking at her phone. The bottom panel shows a close-up of her thinking "What if I buy a TLR camera?".

The Ephemeral vs the Eternal

This is my offering for Week 4 of @norberteder 52 Week Challenge 2026.

No decisive moment this but an attempt to juxtapose a dog, whose lifespan is tragically short, with a neolithic stone tomb which is over 4000 years old.

Camera: Yashica 635
Lens: Yashikor f3.5/80mm
Film: Fomapan 200
Developer: 510 Pyro

A 6x6 image of a multiple exposure. A black dog can be seen standing on top of an old neolithic burial mound. Then overlain is the stone opening to that mound and the dark recess that lies beneath.

I really liked this little door/patio area with all the geometric shapes but with some organic greenery reflected in the glass. I couldn't figure out a good framing to highlight that juxtaposition; didn't want to lurk too long and freakout the residents.

Color photo of a patio and door with two narrow vertical windows reflecting some distant greenery. The whole scene is brown and gray and surrounded by vertical slotted railings causing a lot of shapes and shadows at once geometric but chaotic. The number on the door is 119 in shiny lettering. *** Shot with a Rolleiflex Standard1935 and ZeissTessar75f3.5 lens, on KodakGold200, and developed with BelliniC41 by Shom Bandopadhaya. Going back to a sunny day in San Francisco for #TLRTuesday. I was running low on frames and wanted to take a shot of both the red berries and the path, fairly happy with the outcome.

(It does look better before sRGB jpeg export -- richer but I don't want to oversaturate the colors, especially given how most screen are over saturated to begin with. I'll just mail you a print, that's the only solution.)

Some things just look more dramatic on film.

Like this sinister alder thicket.

An older house being demolished. It backs on to a river waterfront. The neighbours next door have invested heavily in fencing.

The picture is composed of four black-and-white images showing the same round, industrial structure from different perspectives.
The building has a curved roof and a ring of narrow windows near the top, giving it a bunker or water-tower aesthetic.
Its surface appears heavily weathered, with stains, peeling areas, and graffiti along the lower walls.
The structure sits in a grassy, overgrown area with a highway overpass visible in the background, creating a sense of abandonment and isolation.

It's #TLRTuesday (yes, I am trying to make fetch happen)!

I've been lucky enough to be in San Francisco multiple times but I've only experienced this perfect of a day only on a handful of times. I can feel the warm sun and the cool breeze when I recall this scene.

Late submission for #FensterFreitag!

Following the workflow kindly shared by @petrikas but still need to learn a lot more about the AgX style editing and get the colors to be natural to the environment and the film stock. Also, another reminder to get your shots ready for #TLRTuesday :sloth_heart:

An older model electric blue Camaro is gleaming in the sunshine, through its open window you see a person looking at the camera, their face partially lit by the sun. Through the windshield and other open window and above the low-rider car you can see a tourist pedicab with a white awning and a colorful bubbly sign spelling out LUCKY. There are trees and other cars in the background under a blue sky.

I had a nice discussion last week (?) with some film folks about how we're looking for a more positive spirit event like #FolderWeek to get us to shoot and share more work with vintage film cameras and we settled on TLRs (Twin Lens Reflex) cameras. So here's the inaugural #TLRTuesday post (hashtag is still under work-shopping)?

Also an homage to #TrainTuesday, I sadly don't have enough regular train access to keep going, but maybe someday.

A sunny color photo of two old-timey street cars facing each other seperated by an intersection surrounded by palm tree lined brick laid streets. The closer tram to the left is partially visible is a very vivid yellow top and ornage bottom and the farther tram is a white top with a blue bottom, both looking very vintage and dapper.
