"Angel" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter #SarahMcLachlan. The song first appeared on McLachlan's fourth studio album, #Surfacing, in 1997 and was released as the album's fourth and final single in September 1998. The lyrics are about the death of musician #JonathanMelvoin (1961–1996) from a #heroin overdose, as McLachlan explained on #VH1Storytellers. It is sometimes mistitled as "In the Arms of an Angel" or "Arms of the Angel".

I'm reading #MargaretAtwood's 1972 #Surfacing; and while the plot is only okay, her gift for great turns of phrase is already there, such as our hero reminiscing about wearing her high-school boyfriend's oversized ring "around her neck like a crucifix," or how she feels guilty about fishing until she remembers that "we're allowed to kill some things, like fish or our enemies," or how "we used to think Americans were harmless and funny and inept and faintly lovable, like President Eisenhower."
