Anyone know which #Quake2 #SourcePort #OpenSource engine ports still work on #Windows7 32 bit? This screen is 1280x800 which doesn't quite work.
Edit: Oh and it can't be better than DX9 and uh... An ancient OpenGL.
I'm honestly not even sure that OpenGL functions on here... Nothing has successfully initialized it yet...

Haven't been able to compile and run the Quake sourceport Ironwail on my Linux laptop all morning yesterday. It crashes on launch. I thought it was a problem with the audio or video drivers, but last night I had an idea. I accidentally carried over my full config from my main PC, and I thought that was crashing it. Still wasn't the case, just tested that....

Oh wow randomly found a really good article on Doom source ports, explaining what they are, citing examples, and how to use them. The only thing missing, is my favorite sourceport and launcher: Woof! and Doom Explorer. So, in the spirit of helping any one wanting to get into Doom, I'm pinning this on my profile.
Second link is the github page for Woof as my personal recommendation, but you could also use DSDA-Doom.
And third link is the download page for Doom Explorer, with the caveat that it currently does not have a Linux build and for that I use ZDL instead.
