In case anyone is struggling getting the "Line In" on their #SoundBlaster #Audigy 5 card to work for recording, I figured out how to bypass the garbage "creative control panel" which doesn't seems to acknowledge that the card actually even has a "Line In" jack.
Long story short: Disable the "What you hear" recording device in the classic "Windows 7 style" sound control panel (mmsys.cpl) and "Line in" might just magically stop being "Currently Unavailable".
The Audigy 5 arguably has the worst software package I have ever seen on a Creative product.
Well, once you see it powered, it becomes very clear whether it's powered or not. I was convinced I'd seen a product page that showed a display, but turned off you wouldn't guess there's a display there.
Anyway. Currently have my IEMs plugged in, and listening to my audio quality reference album.
