Gestartet wird mit einer #SLS Rakete, dann geht es auf eine Bahn, die eine Schlaufe um den Mond macht und ohne weiteren Antrieb wieder zurück zur Erde führt. Die Amis nennen das Free Return Trajectory, und 1968 hat Poppy Nortcutt sowas für #Apollo 8 recht mühsam auf Lochkarten programmiert, heute geht das einfacher. Erfunden wurde diese Bahn allerdings für die sowjetische Mondsonde Luna 3.

to be clear, I didn't need to go to space to look back at our blue marble to appreciate the importance and value of life and that we are one. I can easily have had and did have my overview effect with #ksp And all the shows like star trek that brought folks optimism and hope.

The folks who got to the top of this system including the space tech billionaires were never going to be convinced of that value They're xenophobic, racist, misogynists and white supremacists.

I'd like to believe that is all it takes. But it's also hard to look at NASA, while the US is in the midst of a coup. A fascist takeover. If I had wanted to come watch the space launch, I wouldn't be able to. Not in the country and not in the state. It just wouldn't be safe.

I'm excited for Artemis, but unlike Apollo with the backdrop of the civil rights movement, all I see is an immense takeover suffering because of the world billionaires built. #space #sls #artemis2 #nasa
