Wendy by Hello Midlands
Review by @ethicalrevolution
Wendy, the song, has been beautifully constructed to form a truly gorgeous piece.
Wendy, the subject, is being deconstructed to expose the harsh realities of life in the modern age.
It’s a well known story about unspectacularly struggling to get through in the insane world we’ve fostered: full of fear, with anxiety activators available on tap, and little hope for any kind of bright future.
The unique Hello Midlands sound permeates through Wendy – the wistful and the bendy.
When the alarm rings and The Blue Choir (a choir in Brighton who are entirely comprised of mums and daughters) pitch in it really kicks off and makes you sit up.
Wendy is a lady who has never been more than an hour outside her hometown.
Wendy is a track that resonates from front to back. Nothing short of a masterpiece, it’s going straight in to rotation on NHAM Radio.
Wendy’s hometown is Placeford, a town you can visit when listening to the upcoming Hello Midlands album of the same name, due for release in March.
Some of the songs have already been released as singles over on Ampwall.
