More progress with the model railway signals.
I designed a mount for the Train-Tech range of OO scale signals. The top surface is a perfect match for the signal base, then there’s a 12mm diameter plug that goes into the baseboard. Underneath is a stem to which I can tie-wrap a flat cable, making it immobile.
Install the signal on top, it’s a snug push fit. Then fix the cable in place and solder it to the terminals on the signal.
What we end up with is a very solid baseboard mount for the signal, together with a cable that has been immobilised to ensure reliability.
