Bin sehr positiv überrascht - der Geruch ist rauchig/torfig, Geschmack ganz leicht süßlich und sehr weich.
Vom Geruch ausgehend habe ich ihn mir stärker vorgestellt. 👍

I always like a wee bit of water with this one. Buttery almonds wth vanilla and dark fruit, plums and raisins. Familiar waxiness, green apples, citrus and sweet toffee. Dark chocolate and a little spice to finish. No sherry bomb, but the PX is most definitely there 😃

The Scottish men destroyed the USA Team earlier, and two magnificent wins for the Scottish Women, gubbing the USA Team and then the Japanese Team, put both teams with a slim chance at medals.
Woodrow's Highland Park 7, Whisky Bar of The Year 2025, 58.9%, NC, NCF.
Finished in 1st fill Oloroso firkin. Orange peel on the nose with subtle almond and slight smoke. Silky smooth mouthfeel, chocolate, and mint. More citrus on the tongue, which lingers into a spicy finish of nutmeg and cinnamon.

I spent the evening of Valentine's Day with three gorgeous ladies. It was quite a Hedonistic experience, with their distinct personalities. One of them is a little spicier, another luscious and sweet, and the last a but more mature, smooth and silky. I was very satisfied.
There are advantages to being polydramorous. ;-)

This is the big ticket item that came in last week, the new Drammers Club 19 year Ardbeg Single Cask #5459. Aged entirely in an ex-Oloroso Sherry Butt.
We took it along on a weekend trip with a couple of friends to Blue - Inn on the Beach on Plum Island this past weekend. It was a perfect dram for sitting by the windows, looking out across the snowy beach at the ocean, and just relaxing.
It's here, the Compass Box Whisky Hedonism 2026 Limited Annual Release, starring Karen Gillan as The Muse. I picked these up last night at Julio's Liquors.
This year's label is by Australian artist Emma Hack, and utilizes body painting, collage, and photography.

@donaldham This is Jura Supersition. Unfortunately you won't be able to find it (unless you're prepared to pay an awful lot of money on the collectors' market) because they haven't made it for a good decade or so.
These days this bottle sits in the cupboard and only comes out for Burns Night or other special occasions. I've got maybe three or four glasses of it left to go and I'll be very sad once it's all gone.
Any lightly-peated single malt would be a suitable substitute though.
