Quantity beats quality, I guess. I keep hoping I'll have a wildly successful 3D model on Printables*, and it doesn't happen. But I just checked my stats, and people have downloaded my models 205 times in the last month. I'm contributing more than I'm downloading myself, at least.

*If I were serious about it, I'd be designing cute knick knacks instead of functional stuff carefully optimized.

Printables runs contests on a regular basis. The current one is of course Valentine's themed. What caught my eye on this one was the closing line: "And if someone will add a practical twist on top of that, we’ll be more than happy to see it"

Well, that's a challenge I'll accept! I modified my earlier "You Tube" design to have a "heart" profile. There are some idiosyncrasies in @FreeCAD that made it more of a challenge than I expected. You can't do an offset on a B-Spline. But you can copy and scale, but you have to do it by eye.

Here's the result. I have 2 hopes for this: That Jayne likes it, and that I win the #Printables contest!

Don't know why I stopped posting my latest Printables designs. Let's regain the habit. My #Xiaomi SmartBand 9 Active Stand. I think it should also work with many other band models from Xiaomi, that use the same charge connector.

Ein 3D gedrucktes Nintendo Switch 1 Modell, ca. 4,5 x 2cm groß mit einem roten und einem blauen Controller. Die Controller sind abgesteckt und liegen neben der Basis. Man sieht, dass aus den Seiten je zwei kleine Stifte ragen auf die die Controller offenbar mit passenden Löchern gesteckt werden.

Eine süße Nicci-Katze auf einem orangenen Handysitzsack. Sie ist braun gestreift, trägt ein paar 3D gedruckte Katzenohren und hält auf dem Schoß eine 3D gedruckte Nintendo Switch in passender Größe. Die Switch hat ganz stilecht einen orangenen einen violetten Controller, die Tasten sind schwarz und auf dem orangenen Controller gut erkennbar. Der Mittelteil ist aus schwarzem Glitzerfilament für einen Bildschirm-artigen Effekt.

This weekend project was adding relays to my #cncwoodoruter with #linuxcnc this proved to be a nice learning experience with #freecad and the linuxcnc hal system.

I did go a bit overboard with cable channels and snapmounting - I still need to do a bit more for a wall mount and perhaps a cover.
