Apple’s design team has completely lost it!
I removed the PreviewApp, but PDF Expert by Readdle hijacks all PDFs when opened, instead of using the FilesApp, as you suggested.
I’m also wary of PDF Expert due to its AI features I did not ask for, as well as the connections it makes to Facebook and other invasive trackers, every time you open the App.

Somebody needs to explain to me who at #apple thought that using the #previewapp on #ios26 was a better UX than using #quicklook. WTF? What’s going on at Apple? Regarding UX, they’re simply regressing… 😒
Someone at #apple must have gone rounder-corners-crazy when updating the #previewapp app for #tahoe. How can the corners of a page become round corners?

P.P.S., @scruss informs me that Firefox's built-in PDF viewer can do (almost) all of the annotation things I've been trying to do with multiple apps. I'm kinda shook!

Every time some profoundly doof website makes the decision that "copying our content is bad" and mangle with the text selection feature, I'm forced to make a screenshot and extract the text somehow. For most cases #OSX #PreviewApp works well. For everything else...

The fact that #macOSSonoma puts an icon next to the file to indicate where it came from (email for instance) and that #Previewapp tells you that there are other versions of the same file (subsequent or prior) is one of the BEST and less discussed things in MacOS Sonoma IMHO.
