I didn't use the mask (Sundström SR-200) this year as much as I thought I'd need it… largely because COVID-19 numbers were well down (but as it turns out… my trust in things was a little misplaced as I did get a mild hit of *something* sinus-wise).
That, and I was expecting a lot more backburning activity this year than has eventuated. So the mask mostly stayed in my bag, and while it did get some use on public transport (and continues to do so… the lurgy I got earlier this year was a warning shot!), the usage has been sporadic.
The construction of the cartridge is a coarse pre-filter that gets rid of the bigger particles before the P3 filter deals with the rest. After a year, this is what it looks like.
I know people in places like India and Pakistan will be looking at me sideways saying "Errm, yeah? Want to come sniff some of our smog?" … Brisbane air for what it's worth, is still pretty clean compared to lots of places, but it still makes you think about what we breathe in every day.
I wonder what it'd look like if I had been more strict about it.
