Tails Tuesday 2 2nd December 2025.

F-GCPH, Boeing 747-228B(M), Air France Asie Cargo, at Paris Orly, 22nd September 1996.
Quite a few airlines, mostly European, set up subsidiaries with "Asia" or "Asie" or something similar in the title in a rather cynical attempt to operate flights to both China and Taiwan without offending either country.
The easiest way to tell the difference between Air France and Air France Asie was not to look at the titles on the sides of the fuselage - the "Asie" bit was below the "Air France bit, and it was easy to miss.
Instead, look at the tail - normal Air France planes have a red stripe at the rear of the tail, but this is blue on the "Asie" planes.
