It harmonises tagging for standard ETCS marker boards worldwide, so identical stop/location/transition markers aren’t tagged differently by country. 🪧🗺️
Example tags: railway:signal:train_protection=ETCS:marker and railway:signal:electricity=ETCS:power_off. ⚡️🔌

@FK_Med @muri Vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Aber dauerhafte Sperrungen, wie bei uns im Dorf für die kommenden Monate, müssten doch irgendwie in OsmAnd eingespielt werden können. Ich hab keine Ahnung, ob man das dann in die OSM Quelle einträgt oder ob es offizielle Quellen gibt (regionale Verkehrsbetriebe), die solche Infos zur Verfügung stellen. Weiß das vielleicht jemand?

And here's my question in English: Is there any good place that does more or less the same thing as Yelp, Foursquare or Google Maps (i.e. a service that lets you discover, rate and recommend places), but based on the #fediverse / #activitypub and/or #openstreetmap?

What it makes clear to me:

In #OpenStreetMap, every single square meter seems to be classified for #Minab, with respect to a military or civilian usage. I don't know who invests so much effort and time in #OSM and for what reason.

But IMHO: In an illegal war of aggression against #Iran, bombing near to known schools accepts the killing of children.

There is a lot that could be said from a technical pov and @pnorman has touched on some of them. There are more, for example if such a system even makes sense as a replacement for linear referencing for matching roads.

But the OMF is simply not an acceptable body for anything and that is where this discussion should stop.

Wer von kommerziellen Navigations- und Karten-Lösungen wegkommen will, greift meist zu Alternativen, die ihre Daten von #OpenStreetMap beziehen.

OpenStreetMap funktioniert ähnlich wie #Wikipedia, weil da viele Freiwillige in ihrer Freizeit die Daten anreichern und verbessern.

Hier mein heutiger Beitrag zum DI.Day:

Das Aktualisieren und Ergänzen fehlender Daten, wie zum Beispiel Öffnungszeiten von Restaurants oder vom Lieblingsbuchladen, geht einfach und schnell unterwegs mit der App #StreetComplete.

Das braucht nur wenige Klicks und dauert nur ein paar Sekunden. Damit trägst du dazu bei, dass andere Nutzer*innen sehen können, wann ein Restaurant oder Geschäft offen haben. Oder ob ein Ort vorübergehend oder dauerhaft geschlossen hat.

Mit StreetComplete lassen sich auch viele andere Daten ergänzen und Aktualisieren.

Genial! Organic Maps funktioniert super!
Es zeigt alle Restaurants in der Umgebung an und auch bei fast allen Restaurants, ob sie jetzt offen haben.

Bei den fehlenden Öffnungszeiten muss nur der Datensatz bei #Openstreetmap aktualisiert/erweitert werden. Dank der App #StreetComplete geht das einfach und schnell.
