@Semafor @semafor-Semafor if I were a #SpaceX shareholder I'd dump them for $1 each!
@inkorrupt oder machen irgendwas anderes als #Aktien in nem gemischten Portfolio…
@jfmezei Granted, I consider no #Shitcoin to have value and would be cautious to accept #Monero as collateral, unless I have custody of it and can instantly cashout once it hits a "Stop Loss" Order threshhold.
@F3715H @JuxGD I second this one.
1. Obviously #Monero peaked recently because everyone who can is dropping #USD for #XMR and is #GTFO'ing the #USA due to #Trump...
2.I've seen "#ProofOfStake" #Shitcoins like #Ethereum and #Solana with setups that are way more wasteful, expensive and #hoarding of hardware like #RAM and #SSDs [the latter one being basically destroyed due to extreme #IOPS].
3.If you have no problem with #AMEX, #VISA, #MasterCard ¹ (and espechally #PayPal!)² ³, then you shouldn't have a problem with Monero either!
Yes it is a #cryptocurrency, but it's the "least worst" when it comes to #privacy, #centralization and some study seem to hint that Monero and the DNMs that use it actually reduce #StreetCrime and #Violence as they allow #NonviolentDrugOffenders [aka. #VictimlessCrimes] to be facilitated safer and in a trustless envoirment.
The Problems associated with #Monero are not due to the fault of Monero. It's what people do towards other people. Whether they do it for XMR, #Dollar, #Euro, or whatever doesn't make it better or worse than whether someone threatens a person with a knife or a rifle: Both are equally bad in the eyes of the law and society for all the righr reasons!
Also Monero per it's very design CANNOT be abused for "#SmartContracts", #NFTs and associated #malware - in fact the #developers of Monero removed any such ability by deprecating and disabling the tx_extra feature.
<Edit: Now I've made my investment, please boost so that more people can be suckered in and drive the price u..., Erm, no, so that more people are aware of this opportunity to realise financial independence>
If, like me, any spare money you have is in 'tracker' or 'index linked' funds then quite likely you have at least some of your money invested in American corporations. If, like me, this causes anguish then, like me, you may be looking for alternatives. After a shopping session to get a few things for the workshop got mildly out of hand, let me present to you....
Nuts and bolts!
They have so many practical uses as well as what they were designed for: fixing things together.*
They can be used as fishing weights, raw materials for your post-apocalyptic foundry, jewelry, barter currency etc etc. Try that with your bitcoin or GPU!
OK, I'm off to corner the market in big nut, see you later...

@StarkRG That really depends om the regulators:
Whereas #Shareholding also means getting control in return for not having any actual collateral (I mean, look at #NSAbook, they don't have anything they could.offer as collateral!)…
So thw perverse incentives and risk/reward calculus is going to push that.
@StarkRG the counterexample to that would be a #Cooperative where the mandate is not to maximize short-term profits, but the interests of shareholders in a sustainable fashion and where there's only 1 voting share per shareholder regardless if they only have the bare minimum in investment or millions parked in it.
Otherwise both pay dividends based off success, have shareholder meetings and have to release their financials as well as being independently audited.
Plus cooperatives unlike stock companies can't be really shorted as they have sometimes slow and long timeframes for divestments with up to 3 years of pre-announcement period between maning the decision to divest and being actually paid out. Similarly membership and thus beibg a shareholder can be restricted.
@StarkRG Well, that really depends on the setup.
With "#PublicCorporations", shareholders essentialy 'gamble' aka. "#invest" into a company under the theoretical risk of loosing their entire investments.
OFC #Investors expect their #Investment in the form of #shares to gain value over time instead so if they "cashout" (regardless if selling to someone else or a stck-buyback program of said #corporation to reduce shares in circulation & shareholders), so that's the pressure to make shure "#LineGoesUp!" and that works solely off #vibes with quarterly and annual numbers changing the mood...
@FluentInFinance always has been a bubble!

@vegetablegremlin I guess that's because #scammers are rampant on #Weibo and #BilliBilli to the point that they make the #US-style #CryptoBros with their "#NotFinancialAdvice!" permabanners on #YouTube, #Twitch, #TikTok & #SnapChat look serious in comparison.
@moxie always do that just like contractors do in Germany.

I don't know about y'all, but I get all my financial advice by going on TikTok and searching for the hashtag "#NotFinancialAdvice".
#NotFinancialAdvice but #Tesla and all the other overhyped #GAFAMs & #AIslop profiteers should be shorted into insolvency of every single shareholder they have!
