NEW | FBI confidential informant asserts that Epstein was a “co‑opted Mossad agent” who had been trained as a spy - The Times
Newly released US DOJ files have revived long‑running speculation about Jeffrey Epstein’s links to Israel and whether he may have served as an intelligence asset.
Correspondence shows repeated interactions with Israeli officials, business ventures tied to Israel, and close ties to former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak that continued long after Epstein’s first arrest.
An internal FBI report from 2020 records the source’s belief that Epstein had connections to US and allied intelligence circles through figures such as Alan Dershowitz.
Correspondence reveals Epstein’s involvement in Israeli business interests, including a $1.5 million investment in the Israeli tech company Carbyne, as well as emails discussing tax structures and Israeli startups. The files also document Epstein’s repeated travel to Israel, requests for flights to Tel Aviv, and efforts to secure travel arrangements that would avoid scrutiny.
Epstein even asked Barak to clarify publicly that he did not work for Mossad, while separately inquiring about obtaining former Mossad agents for “dirty investigations.”
The documents further highlight Epstein’s long relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell and the shadow cast by her father, Robert Maxwell, who was widely suspected of ties to Israeli intelligence and was buried with honors in Jerusalem after his death.
Epstein’s own emails speculate about Robert Maxwell’s fate and alleged intelligence connections, adding to the web of intrigue surrounding Epstein’s network.
