I wanted to shoutout some of my #DemoFest faves. Such a cool DIY event for the Fedi! I like Cosmic Club’s demo. It’s straightforward garage pop with catchy melodies and double vocals, soften by a veil of seemingly lo-fi, analog warmth. I wonder how they recorded it. That time in 2016 when I was invited to Olympia Zine Fest and got a bunch of bands to play the public library. The rule was every band that played had to have at least one zinester. Found this old #KRecords newsletter in the Zine Zone at Jacksonville Public Library main branch. This version of #punk is what welcomed me into the scene in the late 90s. It was mostly a bunch of white girls but it still felt inclusive to me, more than white guys screaming Cookie Monster vocals, anyway. #DIYUnderground #PunksPlayPop #riotgrrrl #femmepunk #zines
