The Unknowns have stormed out of Brisbane’s punk scene with raw energy and a gift for no‑nonsense songwriting. Growing up in a scene built on grit, humor, and DIY spirit, they soaked up everything that makes Aussie punk tick. Over a handful of releases—most notably East Coast Low (2023)—they’ve built a loyal following while carving their own lane in modern punk. Their third LP, Looking From The Outside, is their strongest yet. It’s a blast of fast, hook‑laden tracks that balance melody and aggression without ever letting up. Sequenced like a sweaty club set, the record drives forward from the first chord to the final crash, leaving no room to catch your breath.
The Unknowns keep it lean and mean. Stripped‑down guitar riffs lock in with pounding drums, while flashes of garage grit and power choruses add dimension. The result? Präsentiert von Festivalstalker, Frontstage Magazine, Handwritten Mag & Spider Promotion Tribe Friday ist eine Band aus Gitarre-spielenden Emo-Kids aus den Wäldern Schwedens, die den rauen Indie-Rock-Dancehall-Sound der frühen 2000er Jahre mit der post-pandemischen Party-Stimmung der Generation Z verbindet. Optimistische Songs über Selbstironie, Identitätskrise, Liebe und Tod sind geprägt von Sarkasmus, Witz und Charme.
„Wenn du in einer kleinen schwedischen Stadt jemand sein willst, hast du drei Möglichkeiten. Man kann Mannschaftssport betreiben – etwas, das ich nie ertragen konnte. Zweitens kann man Drogen nehmen – das macht eine Weile Spaß, ist aber nicht gerade ein langfristiger Plan. Und drittens kann man Musik machen. Das haben die coolen Kids gemacht. Also haben wir das auch gemacht.“ – Noah Deutschmann
Tribe Friday bilden den Sound einer verzweifelten Kleinstadt ab, die den Hunger nach etwas Größerem besitzt. Die Band entstand als Projekt während der Schulzeit und entwickelte sich nach dem “Try & Error Prinzip” und ständiger Neuerfindung zu einem der spannendsten Musik Exporte Schwedens. Von den Anfängen mit klirrenden Gitarren und selbstbewusstem Charisma bis hin zur introspektiven Schwere ihres neuesten Werks hat sich die Band konsequent weiterentwickelt, getragen vom melodischen Instinkt und dem Songwriting ihres Frontmanns Noah Deutschmann.
Tribe Friday sorgte mit ihren Debüt-EPs 2019 und 2020 für internationales Aufsehen, was zu weltweiten Tourneen und Auftritten in großen Fernseh- und Radiosendungen führte. Ihr zweites Album „Hemma“, das sich mit Traumata, den eigenen Wurzeln und Versöhnung befasst, wurde 2023 veröffentlicht und
international gefeiert, gefolgt von hochkarätigen Tourneen mit Acts wie Wheatus und Mother Mother.
Nach Open Air Shows als special guest von Mando Diao, kehren Tribe Friday nun mit neuer Zielstrebigkeit und einer größeren Leidenschaft denn je auf die Bühnen zurück.
Pech beim Denken gehabt? Ha, wir hatten Glück: eine komplett veraltete Anzeige brachte durch Zufall Tijana am Schlagzeug und Henni an der Gitarre zusammen, Jana kam am Bass dazu und irgendwann fischten sie Nele hinter einer Bartheke auf, als sie Agnostic Front-Songs durch den Raum brüllte. Jana gab den Bass an Christoph weiter - wegen zu vieler Bands - bleibt aber assoziiertes Bandmitglied. Erstes Konzert Juni 2025.
Musikalisch bewegt sich Pech beim Denken zwischen Garage Punk, ein paar dreckigen Jazz-Post-Punk-Einflüssen und schrägen Harmonien – und immer mit Hardcore-Roots im Hinterkopf. Die Texte sind persönliche Reflexionen: Fail Forward, Circle (Pit) of Life, Trains & Beetroots!
