Sap's a-runnin'!
Sap's a-runnin'!
I headed into Wodonga this morning to see my own place, water the garden etc. & picked a couple of tomatoes that aren’t quite ripe but will now do so on the window ledge. Tomatoes are the only thing I planted veg wise this year, because I absolutely love them & they have taken up a fair bit of my little veg patch. I do have Silverbeet in a pot elsewhere & that’s on its third year, probably won’t last much longer. Has a big root system - but I will just keep picking for a bit longer 😁.
I also took the dogs for a walk to the creek first thing which is as dry as a bone & very interesting. The dogs thought the smells were pretty awesome too. There was a wild plum tree that are found everywhere, in this part of Aussie at least & it was down the bank of the dry creek. A great spot to get extra water & they’re a decent size & very sweet. I did eat more than a few. I’m going back tomorrow with a couple of bags & will do a harvest. I’ll wash them & store them in the fridge until I go home & then stew them for winter eating. Gotta love free found food 😃. #HouseSit #PetSit #FoundFood
I used to work at an upholstery shop. Mostly, i stayed at the front desk, gave estimates, opened furniture...overall extra help. When 2020 hit i spent a lot of time at the shop, since it was pretty empty most the time, interactions with people was super low and really at most there were only 2 others there, the upholsterers. One of those days we went to dumpster with scraps and found 4 full boxes of un opened, unexpired, Rap Chips.
They kept us pretty satiated for a while, crumbling them up, putting them on sandwiches and things - they were pretty good!
Times have changed in so many ways.
