A photograph of the public artwork titled the Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Prague, Czech Republic. It is comprised of a series of seven bronze nude male statues descending a staircase. The first figure at the base is intact, while subsequent figures going up the staircase are increasingly mutilated or appear to be decaying, with the last figure represented by only a foot. The artwork is meant to symbolise the physical and psychological destruction of those who suffered under the country's communist regime from 1948 to 1989.

This is an autumn landscape format photo of three trees that are on one side of an accessible hiking trail that runs through an urban forest. The leaves on the tress are an orangish red colour. Many leaves have fallen to the ground and cover the grass at the base of these trees. The trail can be seen descending down a gentle slope into a lower section of the trail. Although some leaves in the distance are still green, this photo definitely has an autumn vibe to it.

Last Colours

These were some of the last remaining autumn leaves on trees in the woods, last week. The mist made this group of trees stand out from the background. I love these conditions for woodland photography.

Autumn

This is how I like my autumn mornings: foggy and in the woods, with camera in hand. The remaining leaves on the trees in this local woodland were coloured beautifully, while the fog was slowly lifting.

This was shot with my brand new camera body, the Canon R6 Mark III. It's an absolute joy to shoot with. I'm going to be having a lot of fun with it. Now it's time to finally have the two defects of my 5D Mark IV fixed.

This is an autumn season photo taken in landscape format of a mature deciduous tree with leaves in beautiful colour. The tree's truck is large and it's branches rise majestically upward and outward. The leaves range in colour from yellow to orangish. The sunlight on this day produced a backlighting effect so the colours really "pop". It was taken during a hike in a mature forested area. Many fallen leaves cover the ground as well as the trail's surface. Shadows from the branches can be seen on the ground. The frame is filled with the tree's branches with only glimpses of the sky coming through.

The sky was a nice blue colour on this day and a dusting of freshly fallen snow was on the ground. Many fallen leaves can be seen on top of the snow along the trail's surface. While many of the tree's branches are now bare on this mid-November day, coloured leaves can still be seen aloft. Autumn colours continue to be on display above, even with snow on the ground. The image is one of transition between autumn and winter with both seasons present within the frame.
