Goood mornin fedifam

Welp, last night got close on the 3dprinting parts of project, today for sure then to programming.

Also got #Jellyfin media server going. Not quite as polished as #Emby or #Plex but very serviceable and what it lacks makes up for in FOSS.

Todays plan is get the 3dprinting done and get a hello world programmed for the servos and text to speech today.

Other than that, a bit chilly so nothin but homebody today.

A fond farewell to #Emby

Emby is like #Plex but just your media. Ive been a paying premier user for many years.

A few months ago, smart tvs decided they were gonna report everything you watch and sell it. (or worse)
Yes, yours too.

I decided to take my tvs off the web and created a local only network. My server talks to both local and web.

Now the Emby tv apps dont work even tho they dont need web. And thus my farewell.

Lookin like #Jellyfin install incoming.. was a good run Emby.

What are your favourite apps to access your home media server content?

Emby – Missing Movies after upgrade 4.9 fix

Okay the Emby Version 4.9 is already considered stable since a couple of months but i didnt update to it. Why? Well a friend of mine did and told me that after the update there were quite some Movies missing i his Database. And thats something i litarilly hate, if something gets worse with an update.

So i waited, because he told me: next time its your turn to test, and rollback if something doesnt work etc.

So i waited till today and made the upgrade. On the firts glance everything looks fine but than i scanned my library, and turned out instead of 6043 Movies, which equals the count of Movie folders Emby returen 6000 Movie items. Fuck!

So Emby recognized the correct count of Folders, but not of Movies. Quick question on the Emby Forum returned: send some logs! Yeah great thanks for nothing.

So i searched myself and have seen that in the filter Settings for you can Filter for Duplicates, which return around 30 Movies which seem to have duplicates. The first was A Nightmare on Elm Street which should have 11 duplicates, no way! And hoestly that was not correct. A dont know how this duplicate detection works on Emby, but most of the time it fails. There were some real duplicates, which i than simply deleted on my NAS. For the false alarms there is a „Split Version“ Button if you scroll down deep enough on the Movies overview page. Now everything ist back to normal.

Das sieht gut aus. Alles wichtige aus dem Backup ist auf dem neuen Gerät übernommen.
Die einzige Playlist (die eher ne Spielerei war) hat er nicht übertragen, das kann ich verschmerzen.
In einer Bibliothek (die aber nur aus 4 Einträgen besteht) sind die Bilder verschwunden. Unverständlich, aber schnell reparierbar.
Ich bin zufrieden.
Diese "Reparaturen" folgen dann heute Nachmittag nach der Arbeit.

Neuer RasPi 5 hat ein aktuelles DietPi ("Trixie").
PiHole installiert (noch nicht aktiv)
HomeAssistant kommt noch.
Emby installiert.
USB-Raid-Laufwerk gemountet und per Samba freigegeben.
User anscheinend korrekt eingerichtet - sowohl Emby als auch ich vom Desktop aus übers Netz können schreibend auf die Platte zugreifen.
Emby Backup eingespielt.
Jetz muss einmal die Library (aktualisierte Speicherorte) aktualisiert werden. Ich lass ihn mal über Nacht rödeln.

Unfortunately, it might skip the last unaligned sector size of the file though …
Next step: Verify that creating zero-bytes segment doesn't fuck up the stream.

Thats it, Im done with #Roku

I have #emby (media server) client installed on my #LG and #Roku TVs. I disconnected the internet but kept them on the same network.

LG says ok.. plays fine

Roku says.. we cant monetize you without internet so screw you. No network. Full Stop.

Wow.
Update für #Proxmox durchgeführt, für vier VMs und einen Container.
Vorher noch brav für alle VMs ein vollständiges Backup durchgeführt. Eine externe Festplatten eingerichtet und dort zusätzlich ein #Borgbackup für die #Nextcloud Daten erstellt.

So weit so produktiv für einen Sonntag.

Jetzt müsste ich nur noch eine #nfs Freigabe von meinen Clouddaten zu meinen Laptop und von einem Ordner in der Cloud zu meinen #Emby Server.

Dumm nur, dass nfs für mich sowas wie der Endgegner ist.
Habs einmal geschafft.
Hatte aber wahrscheinlich was mit Glück zu tun gehabt 🙇

Hanno aggiornato l'integrazione #emby per #homeassistant ed ora sono una persona felice (almeno per i prossimi 5 minuti)

None of them have danish sibtitles. When i rip them to the mediaserver i will rip the danish subtitles from the blu-ray version that i Have and add them so that i can watch the 4k with the danish subtitles.
