KT148A Voice Chip FAQ: Can't hear the 'beep' when trying to enter download mode by shorting Pin 5 to ground? This is common.

Solution: Connect Pin 5 to ground through a 1K resistor. This makes the power-on beep much louder and clearer.

Even with no audible beep, you can often still connect your serial tool and download via PC software. Experimentation is key!

Solution: Connect Pin 5 to ground through a 1K resistor. This makes the power-on beep much louder and clearer. Remember, the chip just needs to detect a low level on Pin 5 during power-on.
