Derzeit blockt mein #uBlockOrigin immer sämtliche Mails wegen #AWS-Trackinglinks. Laut Gunnar scheiterte der Wechsel (Stand vor einigen Monaten) mangels bequemer Alternativen.
Und wenn ihr gleich dabei seid, wäre noch ein Tipp gut, wie man das ganze möglichst simpel gleichzeitig via #RSS zur Verfügung stellt (eher mein persönlicher Wunsch). 😇

Just finished upgrading a #Mautic install to #mautic5. My favourite part was the #AmazonSES integration:
- Upgrade left an unparsable mailer_dsn in local.php, completely breaking the system
- The default symfony/amazon-mailer Just Does Not Work - needs a specific version - “composer require symfony/amazon-mailer=5.3 -W”
- Pasting password into the email config page leaves a cute little lock emoji in the field, resulting in the wrong password being saved. (why is it not a placeholder attribute?)
Apparently, you're supposed to report #AmazonSES #AWS abuse to email-abuse (at) amazon.com, not in the abuse report form with the email category ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(my past experience with AWS abuse team for non-email issues was quite positive, FWIW)
TIL that SpamAssassin doesn't like emails sent from Thunderbird via Amazon SES, claiming:
`FORGED_MUA_MOZILLA Forged mail pretending to be from Mozilla`
This is because Amazon SES does in fact rewrite email headers, which is good except it doesn't remove the User Agent header.
The fix is to go to: Settings > General > Config Editor
Search for sendUserAgent, and double-click to change it from true to false.
- For #Amazon #SimpleEmailService #AmazonSES, you need to to apply for approval before you can send emails to other people. Which means you have to set up your application first.
- Subscribe to Debian Security Advisories through either RSS or mailing list https://www.debian.org/security/

my recent test of the startup's notification system generated mostly successful email messages, but some were throttled. we're running in the SES sandbox and i can think of a bunch of reasons why this test run might be throttled. we're new and unknown; we don't have a bad rep, we have no rep. on top of that, this test run is not really a good representation of our likely email load and pattern.
