Tried out Highscore (formerly GNOME Games) on my OnePlus 6T via the Flatpak developer builds under GNOME Mobile — and wow, it runs beautifully on a touch-based mobile form factor! 💜🎮
Without a physical gamepad, it shows a virtual one on screen. But as soon as I connect my 8BitDo Micro controller, it switches seamlessly — virtual gamepad disappears and I'm playing with real controls. Just works™.

@pedka Since not many language features have to be learnt, it could be suitable for absolute beginners, maybe it is suitable for non-programmers to develop a basic understanding, I would be very interested to know what your experience with it is here

@nippon Hab mir dafür ein gebrauchtes OnePlus 6T mit 8GB RAM gekauft und darauf PostmarketOS mit GNOME Mobile installiert, damit läuft das richtig gut. Das einzige was nicht funktioniert ist die Kamera (aber daran wird fleißig gearbeitet), selbst GPS funktioniert (aber nur mit einer SIM-Karte). Wenn ich damit telefoniere wird mir berichtet, dass ich etwas leiste klinge aber ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden. Trotzdem stimme ich zu, dass es aktuell nur für Enthusiasten zu empfehlen ist
@wederbrotnochwein Um in Linux mal rein zu schnuppern kannst du mit den Installations-USB-Sticks von Ubuntu und Fedora die Distributionen auch erst einmal ausprobieren, das kannst du beim booten der Sticks einfach auswählen ohne das du das System dafür bereits installieren musst
@wederbrotnochwein Als Vorbereitung kannst du dir unter Windows schon einmal GIMP, Krita, Inkscape,.. zur Bildbearbeitung installieren um zu schauen ob du deine Grafiken damit noch offenen kannst, das gleiche für andere Dateiformate.
Du kannst auch DualBoot verwenden um im Notfall noch Windows booten zu können.
@wederbrotnochwein Die Frage ist leider nicht so einfach zu beantwortet, deine Anforderungen erfüllen eigebtlich alle modernen Distributionen. Ich empfehle mit einer weit verbreiteten wie Ubuntu oder Fedora einzusteigen. Bei beiden ist GNOME die Standardvariante, GNOME ist von der UI eher mit MacOS zu vergleichen (Minimalistisch, eigene Ideen, weniger Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. ..) während KDE eher mit Windows zu vergleichen ist (Für Power-User, viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, ein Startmenü,..)
