Part of me feels as though I failed in some way as a cybersecurity, privacy advocate, and anti-scammer citizen...
I was at my local bank and couldn't help overhear an older customer ahead of me request from the teller $20,500.00 in cash. He let the teller know he called in advance to make sure he could withdraw the amount and that the bank had it available.
All I could think about was that I hope he has a legitimate personal or business reason to request that much in cash. I really hope he wasn't being scammed in some way. All I could think about was should I have approached him in the bank and just politely as possible ask if he was OK and to make sure he wasn't being taken advantage of... that's a lot of money in cash... good luck old man I hope you're safe...
I also felt that maybe the bank should be asking some questions too...
Just on the record if this comes out as something bad, this was at the Wells Fargo in Serramonte, CA.
Should I have said/done something? How should I have gone about it if so?

@simendsjo Not sure if this is what you're looking for. It sounds like you might just be trying to find a mount so that the 2.5 just connects directly to the host connector...
@nixCraft Writring macros in Lotus 1-2-3...

@Sempf :)) ... well... according to the movie... part of its existense is...
Not sure how many of you are nerdy and old enough like me but if you watched Tron: ARES some of you might have noticed that the code they are looking for was written in BASIC.
I recognized the language and command structure from the short clip of it they showed... even though what they has written isn't going to do anything...
Companies and sites that only accept phone numbers from major mobile carriers or not allow the use of internet/VoIP numbers should have some kind of guarantee in writing with monetary penealties to victims of security breaches.
I want to be able to use my #googlevoice number to register a #microcenter account but it won't allow it telling me I need to register a mobile number from a major U.S. carrier.
I don't need their spam emails or faux discounts that badly and I'll use other outlets or platforms.
Readers of 2600 might find this fun, interesting, and cute...

@Natasha_Jay ... what do you mean I'm not helping!!!!
@dmitry I understand, and I'll post a comment under my original post explaining that there seems to be overwhelming consensus that the information is not credible...
... but at the same time, not to deflect defending a stance of any type, you reference the Verge, the media company that promoted a person and video on how to build a PC that didn't go to well... just an FYI... https://www[.]youtube[.]com/watch?v=M-2Scfj4FZk
Security practitioners, I have a question.
If there is a RUMOR of a breach of any type is there any harm in being cautious? Is there any harm in alerting the public and advising to take action? Such as suggesting to change passwords? Or should we all wait until the information has been confirmed?
I understand that there are laws in areas that companies must report security breaches to law enforcement and the public but what if we are not in the purview of a company and still alert the public?
@dmitry Isn't there a difference between debunked and unconfirmed?
I'll admit that I may not have vetted the information to everyone's satisfaction but what is the harm in be cautious?
@paulehoffman @jerry While I admit that I may not have vetted the information to everyone's satisfaction and would not want to create anxiety, I find it interesting that being cautious and practicing good security by changing a password would be as controversial as it is in this matter...
What is the harm in changing a password?
@becomethewaifu Do you really want to take a chance on that?
!!! Hello everyone, I had posted this article in my attempt to be cautious and to be of service to the public but it turns out some people have commented that what I have done is a disservice by propagating unconfirmed, inaccurate, or debunked information.
Please read the comments, read the linked articles, and act accordingly to your comfort levels of action.
Thank you to the respondents. I take no offense. Below is my original message.
I still consider myself a gamer... and I believe there are other gamers here...

I think it's interesting that RSA Conference doesn't offer MFA when creating an account and signing in.
I know it's only a conference but...
... wtf?
