Thank you to @biocrusoe for the touching tribute to Peter Amstutz @tetron in the #BOSC2025 opening session - a very fitting venue as much of his work was with #CommonWL, which involved many of our community, and started at the #CoFest: floss.social/@cwl/114655254702

Our website open-bio.org/ is back online, we think it was a effectively a #DenialOfService attack from a rogue bot site scraping - which pushed the server over the hosting's burst CPU limit threshold.

And the website is offline again, another CPU usage spike trigging a precautionary shutdown by the hosting company.

See obf.github.io/ in the interim which already has most of the static content, and all the pages migrated from MediaWiki. The WordPress content is next!

The OBF website is currently down - our hosting have notified us of the problem. We don't have a estimated time for restoration yet, in the meantime much of the content is on github.com/obf although not as readily explored.
