On my way to #GPN23 #gpn with a bunch of #WebOfThings projects and a receipt printer. I'm also happy to see Karlsruhe again.
I'm delighted to share that I have been selected for a https://StandICT.eu Fellowship, with a six month project working on out-of-the-box interoperability on the #WebOfThings.

Personally I would rather that API was a royalty free web standard than a proprietary native mobile API which could be changed or removed at the whim of one company.
WebThings Gateway bridges a range of different smart home protocols to a single standardised interface using the #WebOfThings. https://webthings.io/gateway/
Last week I gave a talk to the W3C @wot Community Group about @krellian's use of @WebThingsIO for commercial smart buildings. The high level business case, a tour of Krellian Cloud features and a deep dive into lessons learnt using #WebOfThings standards. https://youtu.be/7FGS10G-YIc?si=mabYUoP6T2B02mCi

Previously, I've held conference talks about #Webthings which is based on the #WebOfThings. It is an upcoming HTTP standard for making the #InternetOfThings more interoperable.
This year I've been experimenting with #IoT via #Matrix. Yes, that's a lot of overhead, but in some cases you may want the ownership of a persistent log that's encrypted at rest and full-featured access control over who can view and edit the state of your IoT.
I'm preparing a talk for #FrOSCon and the #MatrixSummit.
