#waveguides

I made public today the repository of #cRCWA, a simulation software dedicated to #photonics. It can be used with diffraction gratings, photonic crystals, as other implementations of the #RCWA method. It can also provide PML for nonperiodic structures like optical #waveguides and handle bent structures. Written in C++, it can be used with a simple scripting language or as a module in larger Python scripts. Here it is: github.com/cRCWA/cRCWA #OpenSource #Physics #OpenScience

Is there anyone here who is interested in #photonics? If everything goes as expected, I will publish soom as open source a 3D #RCWA tool for the electromagnetic simulation of periodic and nonperiodic structures (#gratings, microstructured solar cells, dielectric #waveguides…). It is written in C++ and represents several years of research and effort. #electromagnetism #simulation

"Thin films of this compound were connected to photo-conductive switches with co-planar . We observe characteristic current-voltage responses, which in these films point to photo-induced granular . Although these dynamics are not necessarily identical to those reported for the powder samples studied so far, they provide valuable new information on the nature of the light-induced superconducting-like state above equilibrium Tc"

`Through multiple monolithic and heterogeneous processing sequences, direct on-chip integration of III–V gain medium and ultralow-loss silicon nitride with loss around 0.5 decibels per metre are demonstrated. Consequently, the demonstrated integrated enters a regime that gives rise to ultralow-noise and synthesizers without the need for optical isolators, owing to the ultrahigh-quality-factor cavity.`
