I live in an UK 1950s semi. I've slapped solar and a battery into it, and over the next few years I want to step up the energy efficiency+eco impact with retrofitting.

Guys, make me feel better about my recent #heating project. Long story long we wanted to ditch gas and massively improve the efficiency of our 1930s house with full-on insulation upgrades, #underfloorheating, and a #heatpump.

Months of searching for a heating engineer and #builder combo who understood the brief and were excited about the project. Wall, loft, and floor insulation installed under the suspended floors, but NOT over the concrete floors. Told that the extra thermal mass from heating the existing concrete would improve efficiency, which made sense at the time. But post install and post 50mm of screed, everything I can find online says we should've insulated between the concrete and the screed.

It's now way too late to change it and I'm beating myself up about wasted energy, even though the house is blissfully warm and we're already saving money over gas. Please tell me it's not a big deal and I'm worrying about nothing! My brain won't let me stop thinking about it.

One zone in our underfloor heating system stopped working, but now I understand the whole system inside and out. I’ve learned terms like #Manifold and #Actuator, plus I know how to bleed #UFH and replace an actuator pin. Well done, me!”

I'm very pleased how well the #Dreame #robot vacuum cleaner works with #Valetudo after I have liberated it from the Xiaomi cloud. Even the integration with #Domoticz seems to be on a good way 🥰

So now I'm starting to look for an #AirPurifier, a #TemperatureSensor and a #HumiditySensor as well as valves for the #UnderFloorHeating that I can add and control without the respective proprietary cloud services 🤓

Any #recommendations? Ideally for fairly recent hardware? 🙄
