I've had enough of #TomTom's outdated maps and uninstalled both TomTom Go Expert and (otherwise great) #Sygic. It's #MagicEarth for long-distance and potentially congested routes and #OsmAnd for rural/minor roads.
J'ai récemment découvert que le fournisseur de solution GPS Tom-Tom produisait une synthèse de la qualité du trafic dans les principales villes pour l'année 2025.

Les informations sont à la fois très faciles à lire, et très complètes, avec pour les principaux indicateurs une comparaison avec les chiffres de l'année 2024.
Je me suis demandé si on pouvait trouver les chiffres pour 2023, afin d'avoir une vision de l'évolution de la facilité à se déplacer en automobile à Clermont-Ferrand.
Ils ne gardent pas d'historique, mais en cherchant sur internet, je suis tombé sur ces captures d'écran:

On y lit par exemple qu'en 2023, la durée moyenne pour parcourir 10km était de 18mn10. Si on regarde le chiffre de 2025, on voit que c'est presque la même durée (18mn01), et qu'en 2024, c'était 16 secondes de moins, soit 17mn45. C'est donc relativement constant au fil des années, et je me demande si on arriverait à trouver des chiffres semblables pour les années précédentes (2022, 2021). En écrivant ici ces chiffres, je me dis qu'on aura un moyen de comparer facilement l'évolution quand arrivera leur synthèse de 2026.
Une autre chose qui m'a marquée en regardant l'image représentant le classement de Clermont-Ferrand en 2023, c'est que si la ville était classée au 6e rang en terme de congestion pour Tom-tom cette année-là, à part Paris et Bordeaux, toutes les villes du top 10 ont une durée moyenne de parcours de 10km très semblable.
L'article récemment publié dans plusieurs quotidiens et relayé sur les réseaux sociaux qui annonçait un classement passant de la 18e place en 2024 à la 6e place en 2025 ne raconte pas que tout se joue dans un mouchoir de poche: la ville était déjà classée à la 6e place en 2023, et comme toutes les durées sont proches pour les principales villes françaises, le rang doit changer très régulièrement.
On se donne rendez-vous début 2027 pour avoir la suite de cette évolution !

Neben den Live #Verkehrsdaten von Google gibt es frei verfügbar die #TMC Daten über UKW/DAB+/www.
#TMCpro gibt es als Abo.
#HEREweGo und #TomTom verkaufen ihre Verkehrsdaten auch, die sind von Qualität gleichauf mit #deGoogle.
Woher #MapyCZ seine Daten bekommt, weiß ich nicht.
Leider fehlen die Schnittstellen, um diese Daten in #OrganicMaps bzw. #OSM einzubinden.
#Leipzig mit großen Schritten unterwegs Richtung deutscher Stau-Hauptstadt.
Das wäre noch vor 10 Jahren undenkbar gewesen, damals schauten wir abfällig herab auf das Verkehrs-Chaos in westdeutschen Städten.
Was ist passiert? Einerseits halt das rasante Bevölkerungswachstum in Leipzig, andererseits strunzdumme Verkehrs- und Infrastruktur-Planung, so zumindest meine Meinung.
Edit: ach ja und der unattraktive ÖPNV natürlich.

Le "Traffic index" #TomTom 2025 place la ville de #ClermontFerrand comme 6ème des villes les + embouteillées de #France (7ème en 2024).
Au niveau mondial, la ville descend en 250ème position en 2024 (191ème en 2024).
En moyenne, il fallait 18 minutes aux #Clermontois en 2025 pour parcourir 10 km dans la capitale Auvergnate (contre 16'54 en 2024).
Comme en 2023, il faut bien évidemment prendre ces résultats avec distance puisque c'est la dernière année pleine de travaux avec le chantier #Inspire.

In #Hamburg verstopfen weiterhin zuviele Autos die Straßen, eine Trendwende ist nicht in Sicht - die bisherige #Mobilitätswende-Strategie reicht nicht aus bzw. wird zu zögerlich umgesetzt. Der Senat sollte sich endlich an Best Practices orientieren und eine #CityMaut bzw. #Umweltzone ähnlich wie in London und New York einführen sowie den Straßenraums endlich konsequent zugunsten ÖPNV, Rad- und Fußverkehr umverteilen wie z.B. in New York oder Paris.

Hier ist die Erklärung, die mir die Experten von #TomTom geben: In Hamburg sei möglicherweise ein doppelter #CoronaEffekt sichtbar, weil während der Pandemie nicht nur die #Homeoffice-Nutzung die Straßen entlastet habe, sondern auch der vergleichsweise geringe Umschlag des Hafens. Nun trete eine doppelte Normalisierung ein, die Hamburg im Städtevergleich auf einen natürlichen Platz verweise: den einer besonders großen Stadt, die »topografisch benachteiligt« sei, weil Hafen, Alster und Elbe als gigantische Verkehrshindernisse den Straßenverkehr auf vergleichsweise wenigen und darum besonders stark belasteten Routen zusammenpressen.
Ansonsten konzentriert sich der neueste TomTom-Bericht nicht mehr auf minimale Unterschiede zwischen den Städten, sondern betont strukturelle Gemeinsamkeiten: »Besonders in Ballungsräumen und #Metropolregionen führen #Pendlerverkehre aus dem Umland, eine hohe #Fahrzeugdichte sowie begrenzte Kapazitäten im Straßenraum zu dauerhaftem Verkehrsdruck.« Und: »Hohe Mieten und fehlender #bezahlbarerWohnraum führen dazu, dass viele Beschäftigte ins Umland ausweichen. (…) Auch bei gleichbleibender Zahl von Fahrten steigt so die insgesamt gefahrene Strecke – und damit der Druck auf die Straßen.«

Pisaliśmy już o tym, że mapy TomToma będą napędzać Ubera i autonomiczne systemy Volkswagena. Ale co z nami, kierowcami? Holenderski gigant na CES 2026 pokazuje ludzką twarz technologii (dosłownie).
Dzięki integracji z Amazonem i SoundHound, nawigacja przestaje być niemą mapą, a zaczyna rozumieć kontekst.
Do tej pory systemy głosowe w autach działały na zasadzie prostych komend: „Prowadź do domu”. TomTom chce to zmienić, wprowadzając TomTom AI Agent – rozwiązanie, które pozwala prowadzić z autem naturalną rozmowę. Aby to osiągnąć, firma sprzymierzyła się z dwoma gigantami, dając producentom aut wybór.
Opcja nr 1: TomTom + Amazon Alexa (Agentic AI)
Współpraca z Amazonem opiera się na nowej architekturze „Alexa+”. To nie jest zwykła asystentka, która potrafi tylko włączyć muzykę. Dzięki Agentic AI, system rozumie złożone, wielowątkowe polecenia.
W praktyce? Zamiast wydawać serię komend, możesz powiedzieć: „Alexa, znajdź ładowarkę po drodze, ale taką z szybkim ładowaniem, gdzie mogę kupić kawę, a potem usuń ten przystanek w centrum, bo nie zdążę” (oczywiście po angielsku, Alexa niestety nie zna polskiego). AI Agent przetworzy to wszystko naraz, zmodyfikuje trasę w nawigacji TomToma i zaproponuje rozwiązania. To koniec ery „przepraszam, nie zrozumiałam”.
Opcja nr 2: TomTom + SoundHound AI (Pełna kontrola auta)
Dla producentów, którzy wolą niezależne rozwiązania, TomTom zintegrował się z SoundHound AI. Tutaj „głos” sięga głębiej – nie tylko steruje mapą, ale też systemami pokładowymi.
Asystent SoundHound potrafi jednocześnie wyznaczyć trasę do hotelu i… zmienić temperaturę klimatyzacji czy otworzyć szyby, jeśli o to poprosimy w jednym zdaniu. To poziom integracji, który sprawia, że fizyczne przyciski (i ekrany dotykowe) stają się zbędne.

Ruch TomToma jest jasny. Podczas gdy dla Volkswagena czy Ubera dostarczają „surowe” dane mapowe (Orbis Maps), dla końcowego użytkownika chcą być interfejsem pierwszego wyboru. Zamiast walczyć z gigantami AI, TomTom postanowił stać się dla nich najlepszą platformą nawigacyjną.
Rozwiązania te są już gotowe i dostępne dla producentów samochodów (OEM). Pytanie tylko, która marka pierwsza wdroży je do seryjnych modeli?
